SYSTEM CONTROLS
A/C-heater control assembly consists of a liquid crystal display, a temperature control knob, and various buttons which activate A/C-heater system, set desired temperature, direct discharged air to appropriate outlets, activate rear defogger, control fan speed and check ambient air temperature. (Scheme 4)

HEATER WATER CONTROL VALVE
Disconnect heater water control valve cable, located in heater inlet line near firewall. Turn ignition on. Press A/C button. Set temperature control knob to maximum cool position (counterclockwise). Set heater water control valve to cool position. Install control cable, and secure with clamp. (Scheme 5)

AIR CONDITIONING FILTER
Note. This filter is may also be called a cabin air filter. For air conditioning filter location (Scheme 6)

- Open the glove box. Remove the screw with a Phillips-head screwdriver. (Scheme 7)
- Remove the 2 pins installed on the upper part of the glove box and lower the glove box. (Scheme 8)
- Take out the filter case. (Scheme 9)
- Remove the filter from the filter case. (Scheme 10)
- Inspect the filter on the surface.
- To install, reverse the removal procedures.
HEATER CORE
| CAUTION | When removing heater core use care not to spill engine coolant inside vehicle. |

- Drain coolant from radiator. Remove dashboard lower finish panel, safety pad, and driver's side air duct. Release 3 claws and remove heater protector cover. Remove screws, clips and clamps at heater core connections. (Scheme 11) Disconnect heater core connections. Remove "O" rings and discard. Remove heater core.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Use new heater core connection "O" rings. Refill cooling system. Start and warm engine to operating temperature. Inspect system for leaks.
