Shift Lever Vibration
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Loose selector assembly.
- Cable isolation fault. ACTION TO TAKE: Mechanical check.
Noise/Rattle from "J" Gate
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Debris in the mechanism. ACTION TO TAKE: Clean.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Worn "J" gate track gasket allowing lever and molding to contact.
- Loose selector disc seal. ACTION TO TAKE: GO to «SELECTOR LEVER INDICATOR DISC»(ref-171879-S11911876602005021500000) .

- Remove battery cover and disconnect ground cable from battery terminal. Refer to «BATTERY DISCONNECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-171253-S19302448882005020100000) .
- Remove the J-gate surround. See «SELECTOR LEVER GATE FINISH PANEL»(ref-171879-S36733566332005021500000) .
- Remove the console finisher veneer panel. See «FLOOR CONSOLE FINISH PANEL»(ref-198054-S41372053992005101500000) .
- Remove the interlock solenoid actuating lever cover.
- Remove the gearshift interlock solenoid. Remove the solenoid nuts. Detach the solenoid from the latch pin. Disconnect the solenoid multiplug.

- Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
- Fit the gearshift interlock solenoid Locate the solenoid on the latch pin. Connect the solenoid multiplug. Fit the solenoid securing nuts.
- Perform the «BATTERY RECONNECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-171253-S14708357522005020100000) .

- Remove the kickdown switch Rotate counter-clockwise.
