Description

Body control module system receives various input switch signals controlling time and alarm functions for the intermittent wiper timer, washer timer, rear defogger timer, seat belt reminder, decayed out room lamp, central door lock, ignition key reminder, power window timer, door warning, tail lamp auto cut, crash door unlock, auto door lock, 2-Turn unlock, ignition key hole illumination control and keyless entry & burglar alarm.

DDM Operation

  1. Operating Condition DDM controls the operating condition (Enable or Disable) of the Outside Mirror Folding as follows. Outside Mirror Folding can be controlled by user under operating condition that is in ENABLE, TIMER, and TIMER EXTEND. The Outside Mirror Folding will be enabled when IGN Switch DDM is ACC, IGN or ST. After IGN Switch DDM released from (ACC, IGN or ST), the Outside Mirror Folding will be enabled until 30s normally, which called "TIMER". In the "TIMER" and timer elapsed 15s±500ms, if user press Outside Mirror Fold Switch ON, "30s Enable Timer" is extended 15s±500ms this is called "TIMER EXTEND" function.D33
  2. Fold/Unfold Operation When operating condition is in ENABLE, TIMER, and TIMER EXTEND mentioned above, Fold/Unfold is controlled by user operation of Outside Mirror Fold Switch as follows. INPUT/OUTPUT REFERENCE Input Output User Operation Driver Outside Mirror Fold Driver Outside Mirror Unfold Assist Outside Mirror Fold/Unfold Outside Mirror Fold Switch is ON at Initial Time (Battery Reset) ON for 15s±500ms to fold OS Mirror. OFF Transmits CAN message with FOLD to ADM for 150ms. Outside Mirror Fold Switch is ON if previous operating was unfolding ON for 15s±500ms to fold OS Mirror OFF Transmits CAN message with FOLD to ADM for 150ms. Outside Mirror Fold Switch is ON if previous operating was folding OFF ON for 15s±500ms to unfold OS Mirror Transmits CAN message with UNFOLD to ADM for 150 ms

ADM Operation

Fold/Unfold is controlled by Assist Outside Mirror Fold/Unfold command from DDM via CAN communication.

No switch input for controlling Fold/Unfold operation is available in ADM.

  3. Remove the IPM (A) after removing the nut and connector.

General Description

All 13 units which consists of the Body Electrical Control System are linked by CAN *1 line.

They are IPM (Inter Panel Module), FAM (Front Area Module), PDM (Power Distribution Module), DDM (Drive Door Module), ADM (Assist Door Module), ECW (Electronic Control Wiper), CLU (Cluster), MFSW (Multi Function Switch), PSM (Power Seat Module), SCM (Steering Control Module), PTM (Power Trunk Lid Module), FBWS (Front Back Warning System), DATC (Dual Auto Temperature Control Module).

*1 CAN (Controller Area Network) : CAN is serial bus communication type which links not only communication system but also control units each other.

*2 LIN (Local Interconnect Network) : LIN is serial communication type which is used in electrical control system. (This is less expensive.)

DTC Description

TypeConditionRemark
1CANH Circuit OpenB1602 is presented when IC detects one of errors among 7 types under normal communication condition. According to operation condition, some of module which are connected to CAN line may not detect B1602. Also, B1603 can be detected together.

3CANH Circuit Short to Power
4CANL Circuit Short to Power
5CANH Circuit Short to Ground
6CANL Circuit Short to Ground
7CANH and CANL Short to each other

DTC DESCRIPTION CHART

Refer to DTC B1602 : CAN ERROR .

This is DTC which is related with communication error between IPM and other units.

( Control Units : IPM (Inter Panel Module), FAM (Front Area Module), PDM (Power Distribution Module), DDM (Drive Door Module), ADM (Assist Door Module), ECW (Electronic Control Wiper), CLU (Cluster), MFSW (Multi Function Switch), PSM (Power Seat Module), SCM (Steering Control Module), PTM (Power Trunk Lid Module), FBWS (Front Back Warning System))

Case1: After short between ADM CAN Low Line and High Line, short to ground together.

Case2: After short between ADM CAN Low Line and High Line, short to power together.

This code is occurred when It is not possible to transmit data by CAN Line in those way of Software and Hardware. But, It is possible to receive data by CAN Line.

This code reports BUS OFF status when data transmit error count number is over 255. The purpose is to verify the status of CAN controller and CAN communication line when error is detected.

According to operation condition, some of module which are connected to CAN line may not detect B1603.

Also, B1602 coincides with B1603 at all times.

CAUTIONDifference between CAN ERROR and CAN BUS ERROR CAN Error: MIL On, CAN Bus Error: No MIL

Refer to DTC B1602 : CAN ERROR .

This code is outputted when IPM can't receive data from DDM by CAN Line for 10 sec.
