Note. If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
- Move both power mirrors to the full up and full left positions with the power mirror switch.
- Move the power seat to the full front up and full rear up positions, then slide the seat all the way back and completely recline the seat-back backward with the power seat adjustment switch.
- Set the seating position into memory by pressing either the Driver 1 or the Driver 2 position memory switch.
- Using the power seat switches, move the seat away from the positions just memorized.
- Recall the memory positions with the driving position memory switch.
- Wait for 3 minutes.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS. Are any DTCs indicated? YES - Go to step 10 . NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS. Are any DTCs other than B1837 indicated? YES - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. • NO - Go to step 11 .
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Wait 6 seconds
- Move the motors shown one at a time, and check the operation time. Power mirror actuator (up, down, left, right) Power seat (slide forward/backward, recline forward/backward, front up-down, rear up-down) Does any motor fail to run smoothly? YES - Go to the failed motor test. See «POWER MIRROR ACTUATOR TEST»(ref-333628-S37740455792009072100000) . Power seat motor test (see «DRIVER'S POWER SEAT MOTOR TEST»(ref-333636-S40270430552009072100000) ). If the motor is OK, check the engagement of the motor gear. • NO - Go to the power seat control unit input test (see «POWER SEAT CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST/REPLACEMENT»(ref-333636-S23430400662009072100000) ).
