- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Check the MAP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is about 160 kPa (47.1 in.Hg, 1,197 mmHg), or 4.49 V or more indicated? YES -Go to step 3. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the PCM.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect the MAP sensor 3P connector.
- Connect MAP sensor 3P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 3 with a jumper wire.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Check the MAP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is about 160 kPa (47.1 in.Hg, 1,197 mmHg), or 4.49 V or more indicated? YES -Go to step 8. NO -Go to step 18 .
- Remove the jumper wire from the MAP sensor 3P connector.
- Measure the voltage between MAP sensor 3P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3. Is there about 5 V? YES -Go to step 14 . NO -Go to step 10.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector B (49P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal B34 and MAP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 3. Is there continuity? YES -Go to step 25 . NO -Repair open in the wire between the PCM (B34) and the MAP sensor, then go to step 20 .
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector B (49P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal B35 and MAP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 2. Is there continuity? YES -Go to step 25 . NO -Repair open in the wire between the PCM (B35) and the MAP sensor, then go to step 20 .
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Replace the MAP sensor (see «MAP SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-355276-S24438935432010012200000) ).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HDS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-294703-S06414002682008081300000) ).
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTC's with the HDS. Is DTC P0108 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTC's are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-355276-S17063065962010012200000) .
- Reconnect ail connectors.
- Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software (see «PCM UPDATE»(ref-355276-S11014552242010012200000) ), or substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-372404-S39927773792010092500000) ).
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTC's with the HDS. Is DTC P0108 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-372404-S39927773792010092500000) ), then recheck. If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1 . NO -If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-355276-S14841928802010012200000) ). If any other Pending or Confirmed DTC's are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-355276-S17063065962010012200000) .
