Note. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION (+).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Clear the DTC with the HAS.
- Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 seconds.
- Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0369 in the DTC's MENU with the HAS. Does the HAS indicate failed? YES -Go to step 6 . NO -If the HAS indicates PASSED, go to next step. If the HAS indicates NOT COMPLETED, keep idling until the results come back on.
- Test-drive the vehicle for several minutes in the range of these recorded freeze data parameters: ENGINE SPEED VSS
- Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0369 in the DTC's MENU with the HAS. Does the HAS indicate FAILED? YES -Go to next step. NO -If the HAS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, connections or loose terminals at the CMP sensor and the PCM, if the HAS indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to 5 and recheck.
- Check for poor connections or loose terminals at these locations: CMP sensor PCM Engine ground Body ground Are the connections and terminals OK? YES -Go to next step. NO -Repair the connections or terminals, then go to step 11 .
- Check for damage to the front camshaft pulley (CMP sensor pulse plate) (see «CMP SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S26507110752010042600000) (+). Is the pulse plate damaged? YES -Replace the front camshaft pulley (CMP sensor pulse plate) (see «CAMSHAFT REPLACEMENT»(ref-360071-S31999220212010042600000) (+) then go to step 11 . NO -Go to next step.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Replace the CMP sensor (see «CMP SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S26507110752010042600000) (+).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HAS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-360079-S22847966492010042600000) (+).
- Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 seconds.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HAS. Is DTC P0369 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CMP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
