Throttle Body Removal/Installation
| CAUTION | Do not insert your fingers into the installed throttle body when you turn the ignition switch to ON (II) or while the ignition switch is in ON (II). If you do, you will seriously injure your fingers if the throttle valve is activated. |
- Connect the HDS while the engine is stopped.
- Disconnect the MAP sensor connector (A).
- Remove the intake air duct (B).
- Disconnect the throttle body connector (C).
- Disconnect and plug the water bypass hoses (D).
- Remove the throttle body (E).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new gasket (F). NOTE: '08-09 models: Before you torque the hose clamp screw (G), align the edge of the clamp (H) with the painted mark (I). '10-12 models: After you torque the hose clamp screw (J), make sure the clearance (K) is less than 0.04 in (1.0 mm) After installing the throttle body, refill the radiator with engine coolant (see «COOLANT CHECK»(ref-423681-S04277852872011092800000) ). If it is in case of replacing or cleaning the throttle body, got to step 8. If it isn't the procedure is complete.
- Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II)
- Reset the ECM/PCM with the HDS.
- Select ETCS TEST in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.
- Select TP POSITION CHECK and clear the throttle position (TP) learned value.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), wait 2 seconds without pressing the accelerator pedal.
- Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure (see «ECM/PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-423700-S15361251852011092800000) ).
