Audio System

The audio system consists of the following

1. a manual integrated control panel (ICP)
2. a rear mounted AM/FM audio unit (base system)
3. an ICP mounted cassette tape player
4. front and rear mounted speakers
5. an optional electronic ICP
6. an optional rear mounted AM/FM digital (Mach) audio unit
7. an optional compact disc (CD) changer

Each audio control is part of the ICP and cannot be repaired separately. Send the ICP to an authorized Ford audio system repair facility.

On the sedan model, the CD changer is located in the LH side of the luggage compartment. On the wagon, it is located in the RH side of the rear quarter panel. On the six-passenger model it is located in the center console.

1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233724) .
2. Remove the digital CD changer cover.
3. Remove the screws and the CD changer.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233724) .
2. Remove the screws and position the CD changer aside.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the CD changer.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233724) .
2. Remove the luggage compartment scuff plate.
3. Remove the LH luggage compartment trim panel.
4. Remove the CD changer. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the screws.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
