TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Hood Alignment

1. Open the hood.
2. Loosen the 4 upper hood hinge bolts. Loosen the upper hood hinge bolts to the point where the hood slightly moves.
3. Adjust the hood to align the hood-to-fender gaps.
4. Tighten the 4 upper hood hinge bolts. Tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
5. Adjust the hood bumpers to make the hood flush to the fenders.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to «WHEELS AND TIRES»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/wheel-tire-system/#wheels-tires) article.
2. Remove the 3 fender splash shield screws.
3. Remove the 7 fender splash shield scrivets (LH) or the 11 fender splash shield scrivets (RH).
4. Remove the fender splash shield.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure

1. Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to «BUMPERS»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumper-system) article.
2. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to «WHEELS AND TIRES»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/wheel-tire-system/#wheels-tires) article.
3. Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to «Fender - Taurus, Sable»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/exterior-body-panels/#body-system-front-end-body-panels) .
4. Remove the headlamp bolts.
5. Remove the fascia bracket-to-fender-to-headlamp bolt. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
6. Remove the 2 lower fender mounting bolts located at the lower rear of the fender. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
7. Remove the 2 fender bracket-to-fender bolts. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
8. Remove the fender mounting bolt located at the rear of the wheelhouse opening. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
9. Remove the fender upper mounting bolts. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
10. Remove the fender.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Remove the 8 fender splash shield scrivets (LH) or 13 fender splash shield scrivets (RH).
3. Remove the 3 fender splash shield screws.
4. Remove the fender splash shield.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to «WHEELS AND TIRES»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/wheel-tire-system/#wheels-tires) article.
3. Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to «Fender Splash Shield - Taurus X»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/exterior-body-panels/#body-system-front-end-body-panels) .
4. Remove the headlamp bolts.
5. Remove the fascia bracket-to-fender-to-headlamp assembly bolt. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
6. Remove the rocker panel molding. For additional information, refer to «EXTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#exterior-trim-and-ornamentation) article.
7. Remove the 2 lower fender mounting bolts located at the lower rear of the fender. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
8. Remove the 2 fender bracket-to-fender bolts. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
9. Remove the fender mounting bolt located at the rear of the wheelhouse opening. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
10. Remove the side mirror trim panel located at the top rear portion of the fender to gain access to the fender upper rear mounting bolt.
11. Remove the fender upper rear mounting bolt. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
12. Remove the fender mounting nut. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
13. Remove the fender upper mounting bolts. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
14. Remove the fender.
15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Scheme 94

1. Remove the wiper pivot arms. For additional information, refer to «WIPERS AND WASHERS»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/wiperwasher-systems/#wiper-system-and-washer-system) article.
2. Remove the cowl panel grille side moldings.
3. Disconnect the windshield washer hose connector.
4. Remove the 2 cowl panel grille retainer clips.
5. Remove the 2 cowl panel grille pin-type retainers.
6. Disconnect the cowl panel grille from the retaining strip on the cowl. Spread the retaining tabs. Start from the drivers side and work the cowl trim panel off, moving across the panel from the LH to the RH side to remove.
7. Remove the cowl panel grille.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Scheme 95

1. Remove the wiper pivot arms. For additional information, refer to «WIPERS AND WASHERS»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/wiperwasher-systems/#wiper-system-and-washer-system) article.
2. Remove the cowl panel grille side molding pin-type retainers.
3. Remove the cowl panel grille side moldings.
4. Disconnect the windshield washer hose connector.
5. Remove the 2 cowl panel grille pin-type retainers.
6. Remove the 2 cowl panel grille retainer clips.
7. Disconnect the cowl panel grille from the retaining strip on the cowl. Spread the retaining tabs. Start from the driver side and work the cowl trim panel off, moving across the panel from the LH to the RH side to remove.
8. Remove the cowl panel grille.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
