Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal

Note. To prevent system failure, carry out the OCS reset when a front passenger seat cushion is disassembled, a new trim cover is installed or an OCS service kit is installed. Use a scan tool to carry out the OCS reset command.

2. All vehicles: Remove the seat backrest. Refer to: «Front Seat Backrest»(ref-516025-S29732650452012120400000) .
3. All vehicles: Remove the safety belt buckle switch electrical connector from the connector block and detach the wire harness retainers.
4. All vehicles: Remove the safety belt bolt, route the wire harness and remove the safety belt buckle.
5. All vehicles: Remove the seat position sensor. Refer to: «SEAT POSITION SENSOR»(ref-515937-S13359682092012120400000) .
6. Passenger seat only: For early build, separate the OCS sensor from the bracket in the following sequence.
7. Disconnect the OCS sensor electrical connector.
8. Slide an appropriate tool in the slot between the OCS sensor and bracket.
9. Carefully lift the tool end to bend the bracket tab and slide the OCS sensor off the bracket.
10. Passenger seat only: For late build.
11. All vehicles.
12. All vehicles: Remove the cushion cover and foam pad from the seat track.
13. Passenger seat only: Detach the front pin-type retainers, lift the bladder and feed the OCS hose and sensor out from between the seat cushion support wires.
14. All vehicles.

1. Transfer the remaining parts, as needed.
2. All vehicles. Torque : 5 Nm
3. Passenger seat only: For early build, bend the bracket tab away from the seat.
4. NOTE: Inspect the OCS bladder, seat cushion pan and support assembly for any foreign objects before installing the OCS to the seat cushion pan. Remove any foreign objects found. Failure to follow these instructions may result in incorrect operation of the OCS and may cause system failure.
5. Passenger seat only: Inspect the OCS bladder, seat cushion pan and support assembly for any foreign objects before installing the OCS to the seat cushion pan. Remove any foreign objects found.
6. NOTE: Do not trap the pressure sensor hose incorrectly over the seat's suspension or spring. Route the hose so that it lays in a natural bend, and is not twisted due to being forced into an unnatural position. Failure to follow these instructions may result in component damage and/or system failure.
7. Passenger seat only: Route the OCS sensor and hose through the correct opening of the seat cushion suspension wires.
8. Passenger seat only: Position the OCS and install the front pin-type retainers.
9. Passenger seat only: For early build, slide the OCS sensor onto the bracket and connect the electrical connector.
10. Make sure the OCS sensor is securely installed.
11. Passenger seat only: For late build.
12. All vehicles: Position the cushion cover and foam pad on the seat track.
13. All vehicles: Attach all the cushion cover retainers to the seat track and cushion frame.
14. All vehicles: Install the seat position sensor. Refer to: «SEAT POSITION SENSOR»(ref-515937-S13359682092012120400000) .
15. All vehicles: Route the safety belt wire harness through the opening on the side of the seat, position the safety belt buckle and install the bolt. Torque : 47 Nm
16. All vehicles: Route the wire harness under the seat, install the safety belt buckle switch electrical connector to the connector block and attach the wire harness retainers.
17. All vehicles: Install the seat backrest. Passenger seat only: Do not prove out the SRS at this time Refer to: «Front Seat Backrest»(ref-516025-S29732650452012120400000) .
18. All vehicles: Check the active restraint system for correct operation. See Functional Test -Safety Belt and Tonque. Refer to: «SAFETY BELT SYSTEM»(ref-515930-S16182788712012120400000) .
19. WARNING: Occupant Classification System (OCS) parts are calibrated as an assembly and must only be replaced in the configuration they are sold. Never separate parts of an assembly. Failure to follow this instruction may result in incorrect operation of the OCS and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash. WARNING: Make sure the front passenger seat repair is complete, the seat and all attached components (head restraint, seat side shield, etc.) are correctly assembled, and the seat is correctly installed to the vehicle before using System Reset to rezero the seat weight. Failure to follow these instructions may result in incorrect operation of the occupant classification system (OCS) and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash. NOTE: To prevent system failure, take the following precautions before carrying out the OCS reset: Make sure the voltage to the OCSM is greater than 8 volts and less than 18 volts. Make sure the OCS is not below 6 C (42.8 F) or above 36 C (96.7 F) when initiating the OCS reset process. If the vehicle has been exposed to extreme cold or hot temperatures, the vehicle must be exposed and kept at a temperature between 6 C (42.8 F) to 36 C (96.7 F) for a minimum of 30 minutes. Make sure nothing is present on the passenger seat before and during the OCS reset process. Prior to carrying out the OCS reset, make sure a minimum of 8 seconds has elapsed after cycling the ignition switch on. Passenger seat only: Using a scan tool, carry out the OCS reset.
20. Passenger seat only: If the first system reset attempt was unsuccessful, carry out a thorough visual inspection of the following and repair any concerns found. OCS connector and wiring for damage Pressure sensor hose for kinks and/or damage Seat-related wiring harness and body wiring harness terminals and connectors for damage
21. Passenger seat only: Carry out a second OCS reset. If the second attempt is unsuccessful, install a new OCS service kit.
22. Passenger seat only: Prove out the SRS: Turn the ignition from ON to OFF. Wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition back to ON and monitor the air bag warning indicator with the air bag modules installed. The air bag warning indicator illuminates continuously for approximately 6 seconds and then turns off. If a SRS fault is present, the air bag warning indicator will
23. fail to light remain lit continuously flash
24. The flashing might not occur until approximately 30 seconds after the ignition has been turned from OFF to ON. This is the time required for the RCM to complete the testing of the SRS. If the air bag warning indicator is inoperative and a SRS fault exists, a chime sounds in a pattern of 5 sets of 5 beeps. If this occurs, diagnose and repair the air bag warning indicator and any SRS faults.

1. NOTE: Make sure the holes in the backrest cover and backrest foam pad are aligned to the holes in the backrest frame.
2. By hand, pull upward on the head restraint guide sleeves and make sure they are properly locked into the backrest frame holes. If either of the head restraint guide sleeves can be removed by hand, repeat the installation procedure. If the head restraint guide sleeve(s) can be removed again after installing a second time, install a new head restraint guide sleeve(s).

2. If an SRS fault is present, continue to Step 2. Otherwise, turn the ignition off, wait at least one minute and continue to Step 3.

1. Install 4 new seat-to-floor bolts by hand.
