  1. A1 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT MODULE POWER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment. Ignition OFF. Disconnect: Inline C300B : Disconnect the connector block on the seat track. Remove the (yellow) driver seat side air bag inline (C300B) from the rear of the connector block (seat side). Connect the connector block on the seat track. Tighten to 1 Nm (9 lb-in). Disconnect: Driver Heated Seat Module C359 . Ignition ON. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C359-5 Ground Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? Yes : GO to A2 No : VERIFY the RJB fuse 34 (15A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. GO to A7
  2. A2 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Ignition OFF. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C359-4 Ground Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? Yes : GO to A3 No : REPAIR the circuit. GO to A7
  3. A3 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE SEAT HEATER SWITCH Disconnect: Driver Seat Heater Switch C320 . Ignition ON. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C320-4 Ground Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? Yes : GO to A4 No : VERIFY the BCM fuse 85 (7.5A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. GO to A7
  4. A4 CHECK THE SEAT HEATER SWITCH RESISTANCE Ignition OFF. Measure the component side resistance of the driver seat heater switch in each position: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C 320-4 , Component Side C320-5, Component Side Switch Position Resistance 0 Open circuit 1 6, 849 - 8, 371 ohms 2 5, 724 - 6, 996 ohms 3 4, 599 - 5, 621 ohms 4 3, 474 - 4, 246 ohms 5 2, 584 - 2, 636 ohms Is the resistance within the specified range for each control switch position? Yes : GO to A5 No : INSTALL a new heated seat control switch: REFER to: «HEATED SEAT SWITCH - VEHICLES WITH: CENTER ARMREST»(ref-566988-S15504500332013071700000) .   5. A5 CHECK THE SEAT HEATER SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C359-6 C320-5 Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? Yes : GO to A6 No : REPAIR the affected circuits. GO to A7
  6. A6 CHECK THE RESISTANCE OF THE BACKREST HEATER MAT Disconnect: Driver Backrest Heater Mat C3049 . Measure the component side resistance between: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C3049-2, Component Side C3049-1, Component Side Using the table, compare the measured resistance: Seat Type Resistance Comfort seat 4.91 - 6 ohms Sport seat (cloth) 4.6 - 5.63 ohms Recaro seat (partial leather and leather) 5.9 - 7.21 ohms Is the resistance within specification? Yes : INSTALL a new driver seat cushion heater mat. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER MAT»(ref-566988-S00305322242013071700000) . GO to A7 No : INSTALL a new driver seat backrest heater mat. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT BACKREST HEATER MAT»(ref-566988-S29994430422013071700000) . GO to A7
  7. A7 CHECK FOR SRS (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) Connect: Driver Seat Heater Switch C320 . Connect: Driver Backrest Heater Mat C3049 . Connect: Driver Heated Seat Module C359 . WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment. Ignition OFF. Connect: Inline C300B : Disconnect the connector block on the seat track. Install the (yellow) driver seat side air bag inline (C300B) into the rear of the connector block (seat side). Connect the connector block on the seat track. Tighten to 1 Nm (9 lb-in). Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, clear the RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Cycle the ignition OFF then ON. Using a scan tool, perform RCM self-test. Are any RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) retrieved during self-test? Yes : For vehicles built up to 25-06-2012: REFER to: «AIRBAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) - VEHICLES BUILT UP TO: 25-JUNE-2012»(ref-566945-S33999594792013071700000) . For vehicles built from 11-06-2012: REFER to: «AIRBAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) - VEHICLES BUILT FROM: 11-JUNE-2012»(ref-566945-S23581584322013071700000) . No : The repair is complete. RETURN the vehicle to the customer.
  1. Verify RJB fuse 35 (15A) is OK.

PINPOINT TEST B: THE HEATED SEAT IS INOPERATIVE OR DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - PASSENGER

Note. The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

  1. B1 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT MODULE POWER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment. Ignition OFF. Disconnect: Inline C3007B : Disconnect the connector block on the seat track. Remove the (yellow) passenger seat side air bag inline (C3007B) from the rear of the connector block (seat side). Connect the connector block on the seat track. Tighten to 1 Nm (9 lb-in). Disconnect: Passenger Heated Seat Module C329 . Ignition ON. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C329-5 Ground Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? Yes : GO to B2 No : VERIFY the RJB fuse 35 (15A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. GO to B7
  2. B2 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Ignition OFF. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C329-4 Ground Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? Yes : GO to B3 No : REPAIR the circuit. GO to B7
  3. B3 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE SEAT HEATER SWITCH Disconnect: Passenger Seat Heater Switch C321 . Ignition ON. Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C321-4 Ground Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? Yes : GO to B4 No : VERIFY the BCM fuse 85 (7.5A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit CBP04 (YE) for an open. If not OK, refer to the «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. GO to B7
  4. B4 CHECK THE SEAT HEATER SWITCH RESISTANCE Ignition OFF. Measure the component side resistance of the passenger seat heater switch in each position: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C321-4, Component Side C321-5, Component Side Switch Position Resistance 0 Open circuit 1 6, 849 - 8, 371 ohms 2 5, 724 - 6, 996 ohms 3 4, 599 - 5, 621 ohms 4 3, 474 - 4, 246 ohms 5 2, 584 - 2, 636 ohms Is the resistance within the specified range for each control switch position? Connect: Passenger Heated Seat Module C329 . WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment. Ignition OFF. Connect: Inline C3007B : Disconnect the connector block on the seat track. Install the (yellow) passenger seat side air bag inline (C3007B) into the rear of the connector block (seat side). Connect the connector block on the seat track. Tighten to 1 Nm (9 lb-in). Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, clear the RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Cycle the ignition OFF then ON. Using a scan tool, perform RCM self-test. Are any RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) retrieved during self-test? Yes : For vehicles built up to 25-06-2012: REFER to: «AIRBAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) - VEHICLES BUILT UP TO: 25-JUNE-2012»(ref-566945-S33999594792013071700000) . For vehicles built from 11-06-2012: REFER to: «AIRBAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) - VEHICLES BUILT FROM: 11-JUNE-2012»(ref-566945-S23581584322013071700000) . No : The repair is complete. RETURN the vehicle to the customer.

PINPOINT TEST C: THE POWER SEAT IS INOPERATIVE OR DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - DRIVER

Note. The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

  1. C1 CHECK THE SEAT OPERATION WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment. Ignition OFF. Disconnect: Inline C300B : Disconnect the connector block on the seat track. Remove the (yellow) driver seat side air bag inline (C300B) from the rear of the connector block (seat side). Connect the connector block on the seat track. Tighten to 1 Nm (9 lb-in). Attempt to operate the seat in all directions. Is the seat inoperative in all directions? Yes : GO to C2 No : If only the recliner motor is inoperative, GO to C4 If only the horizontal motor is inoperative, GO to C6 If only the vertical motor is inoperative, GO to C8
  2. C2 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE POWER SEAT SWITCH Disconnect: Power Seat Switch C352A . Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C352A-2 Ground Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? Yes : GO to C3 No : VERIFY the RJB fuse 9 (25A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the affected circuit. If not OK, REFER to the «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. GO to C10
  3. C3 CHECK THE POWER SEAT SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C352A-1 Ground Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch REFER to: «FRONT SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-566988-S22626427792013071700000) . GO to C10 No : REPAIR the circuit. GO to C10
  4. C4 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER SEAT RECLINER MOTOR Disconnect: Driver Seat Recliner Motor C368 . NOTE: The voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated. Measure while pushing the recline switch forward and rearward: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C368-1 C368-2 Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated in both directions and 0 volt in the rest position? Yes : INSTALL a new seat backrest. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT BACKREST»(ref-566988-S30473168622013071700000) . GO to C10 No : GO to C5
  5. C5 CHECK THE DRIVER SEAT RECLINER MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Power Seat Switch C352C . Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C352C-1 C368-1 C352C-2 C368-2 Is the resistance less than 3 ohms for both measurements? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-566988-S22626427792013071700000) . GO to C10 No : REPAIR the circuit. GO to C10
  6. C6 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER SEAT HORIZONTAL MOTOR Disconnect: Driver Seat Horizontal Motor C362 . NOTE: The voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated. Measure pushing the power seat switch forward and rearward: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C362-3 C362-4 Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated in both directions and 0 volt in the rest position? Yes : INSTALL a new seat track assembly. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT TRACK»(ref-566988-S12922816222013071700000) . GO to C10 No : GO to C7
  7. C7 CHECK THE HORIZONTAL MOTOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT Disconnect: Power Seat Switch C352D . Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C352D-1 C362-3 C352D-2 C362-4 Is the resistance less than 3 ohms for both measurements? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-566988-S22626427792013071700000) . GO to C10 No : REPAIR the circuit. GO to C10
  8. C8 CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER SEAT HEIGHT MOTOR Disconnect: Driver Seat Height Motor C382 . NOTE: The voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated. Measure while pressing the rear height adjust switch up and down: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C382-3 C382-6 Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated in both directions and 0 volt in the rest position? Yes : INSTALL a new seat track assembly. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT TRACK»(ref-566988-S12922816222013071700000) . GO to C10 No : GO to C9
  9. C9 CHECK THE DRIVER SEAT HEIGHT MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Power Seat Switch C352B . Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C352B-1 C382-6 C352B-2 C382-3 Is the resistance less than 3 ohms for both measurements? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to: «FRONT SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-566988-S22626427792013071700000) . GO to C10 No : REPAIR the circuit. GO to C10
  10. C10 CHECK FOR SRS (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) Connect: Power Seat Switch C352A , C352B , C352C or C352D , if previously disconnected. Connect: Driver Seat Recliner Motor C368 , if previously disconnected. Connect: Driver Seat Horizontal Motor C362 , if previously disconnected. Connect: Driver Seat Height Motor C382 , if previously disconnected. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment. Ignition OFF. Connect: Inline C300B : Disconnect the connector block on the seat track. Install the (yellow) driver seat side air bag inline (C300B) into the rear of the connector block (seat side). Connect the connector block on the seat track. Tighten to 1 Nm (9 lb-in). Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, clear the RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Cycle the ignition OFF then ON. Using a scan tool, perform RCM self-test. Are any RCM DTC retrieved during self-test? Yes : For vehicles built up to 25-06-2012: REFER to: «AIRBAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) - VEHICLES BUILT UP TO: 25-JUNE-2012»(ref-566945-S33999594792013071700000) . For vehicles built from 11-06-2012: REFER to: «AIRBAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) - VEHICLES BUILT FROM: 11-JUNE-2012»(ref-566945-S23581584322013071700000) . No : The repair is complete. RETURN the vehicle to the customer.
  1. Verify BCM fuse 85 (7.5A) is OK.
  2. Verify BJB MEGA fuse 6 (70A) is OK.

PINPOINT TEST D: THE HEATED SEATS ARE INOPERATIVE - DRIVER AND PASSENGER

  1. D1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE SEAT HEATER SWITCH Ignition OFF. Disconnect: Driver Seat Heater Switch C320 . Ignition ON. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C320-4 Ground Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? Yes : GO to D2 No : VERIFY the BCM fuse 85 (7.5A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) to identify the possible causes of the circuit short.
  2. D2 CHECK THE ACCESSORY RELAY COIL VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT Ignition OFF. Remove the accessory relay. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead Accessory Relay Pin 1 Ground Accessory Relay Pin 3 Ground Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? Yes : GO to D3 No : VERIFY high current BJB MEGA fuse 6 (70A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit for an open. If not OK, REFER to the «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) to identify the possible cause of the circuit short.
  3. D3 CHECK THE ACCESSORY RELAY COIL CONTROL CIRCUITS NOTE: The following step uses a test light to simulate normal circuit loads. Use only a Rotunda Test Lamp (SGT27000) or 250-300mA incandescent bulb test lamp. To avoid connector terminal damage, use the Rotunda Flex Probe kit for the test lamp probe connection to the vehicle. Do not use the test lamp probe directly on any connector. Ignition ON. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead Accessory Relay Pin 1 Accessory Relay Pin 2 Did the test light illuminate? Yes : GO to D4 No : GO to D5
  4. D4 CHECK THE ACCESSORY RELAY Ignition OFF. Carry out the relay component test on the accessory relay. Refer to «SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-541405) for schematic and connector information. Did the accessory relay pass the component test? Yes : REPAIR or INSTALL a new Rear Junction Box (RJB) as necessary. No : INSTALL a new accessory relay.
  5. D5 CHECK THE ACCESSORY RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE Ignition OFF. Disconnect: BCM C2280B . Ignition ON. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead Accessory Relay Pin 2 Ground Is any voltage present? Yes : REPAIR the circuit. No : GO to D6
  6. D6 CHECK THE ACCESSORY RELAY COIL CONTROL GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Ignition OFF. Measure: Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead Accessory Relay Pin 2 C2280B-41 Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? Yes : GO to D7 No : REPAIR the circuit.
  7. D7 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the BCM connectors and all previously disconnected exterior system connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM . REFER to: «BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)»(ref-566939-S09040044222013071700000) . No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
