Seating - Except Electric: Overview Ford Focus III

Seating - Power

The driver 6-way power seat is equipped with the following motors

  1. Height motor
  2. Recliner motor
  3. Horizontal motor

Seating - Heated

This system allows independent seat electrical heating of each front seat on demand. The components of the system consist of the following

  1. seat heater mats (located on the seat cushion and backrest)
  2. heated seat modules (located under each seat cushion)
  3. heated seat control switch (located on the center console)

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

When the seat control switch is activated, voltage and ground is supplied to the applicable seat motor to move the seat to the desired position. There are 2 seat track motors that combine to move the seat cushion horizontally (forward/rearward) and vertically (up/down). There is an additional motor in the seat recliner mechanism to move the seat backrest forward and rearward.

Only the heated seat control switch and power feed circuit are common to both the driver and passenger heated seats.
