Removal
Note. Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage to the module may result.
Note. Prior to the replacement of the module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to a scan tool. This information must be downloaded into the new Body Control Module (BCM) after installation. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION . In the event that As-Built data is required ( BCM does not communicate) and the vehicle is not equipped with Intelligent Access (IA), all Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) devices must be programmed to the new BCM . A minimum of 2 devices are necessary to complete the configuration.
Pinpoint Test Q
- NOTE: This step is only necessary if the BCM is being replaced.
- Upload the module configuration information from the BCM into the scan tool. For additional information, refer to «MODULE CONFIGURATION»(ref-382391) .
Installation
Pinpoint Test Q
- NOTE: If the BCM is not being replaced, this is the last step that is necessary.
- Connect the 7 electrical connectors.
Removal and Installation
Pinpoint Test Q
- NOTE: This step is only necessary if the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module is being replaced
- NOTE: Prior to the replacement of the module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation. For additional information, refer to «MODULE CONFIGURATION»(ref-382391) .
- NOTE: The Programmable Module Installation (PMI) process does not include the Intelligent Access (IA) key programming into the new RFA module. After the PMI process has been completed, the IA keys need to be programmed into the new RFA module during ignition off. For additional information, refer to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in «ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS)»(ref-382409) . After the IA keys have been programmed into the new RFA module, the ignition must be turned to the ON mode in order to reset the parameters in the new RFA module and the PCM. For additional information, refer to Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset in «ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS)»(ref-382409) .
- Upload the module configuration information from the RFA module. For additional information, refer to «MODULE CONFIGURATION»(ref-382391) .
