Automatic Transmission Cooling System: Removal & Installation Ford Explorer V

Removal

1. NOTE: The OTA transmission fluid multi cooler is part of the A/C condenser assembly and cannot be serviced separately. If installation of a new OTA transmission fluid multi cooler is required, Refer to: REFER to «CONDENSER CORE - 2.0L GTDI»(ref-517581-S24077175592012121200000) for DATC. REFER to «CONDENSER CORE - 3.5L TI-VCT»(ref-517581-S40995927352012121200000) for DATC. REFER to «CONDENSER CORE - 2.0L GTDI»(ref-517582-S34339074182012121200000) for EMTC. REFER to «CONDENSER CORE - 3.5L TI-VCT»(ref-517582-S13125761642012121200000) for EMTC.

Installation

REFER to «CONDENSER CORE - 3.5L TI-VCT»(ref-517581-S40995927352012121200000) for DATC. REFER to «CONDENSER CORE - 2.0L GTDI»(ref-517582-S34339074182012121200000) for EMTC. REFER to «CONDENSER CORE - 3.5L TI-VCT»(ref-517582-S13125761642012121200000) for EMTC.

1. Torque: 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
2. Torque: 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
3. Install the ACL assembly. REFER to «INTAKE AIR SYSTEM COMPONENTS - EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-517563-S09135048742012121200000) .
4. Fill the transmission with Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid and verify correct operation. REFER to «TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL CHECK»(ref-538870-S42044487752013033000000) .

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Check the Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid level and add Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid as necessary.
