- Read and record all DTCs Install the scan tool and record all DTCs . Is DTC P0815 set? Yes: GO to 2 . No: For DTC P0816, GO to 6 .
- Check the upshift signal circuit for voltage Ignition OFF. Disconnect the selector lever C2008. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals. Ignition ON. Measure the voltage on circuit CET43 (GY) from the selector lever C2008-9 to ground. Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 9 CET43 (GY) Ground Ground Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes: GO to 5 . No: GO to 3 .
- Check the upshift signal circuit for an open Ignition OFF. Disconnect the PCM C175B. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals. Measure the resistance of circuit CET43 (GY) from selector lever C2008-9 to the PCM C175B-23. - Check the downshift signal circuit for an open Ignition OFF. Disconnect the PCM C175B. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals. Measure the resistance of circuit CET42 (GN/VT) from selector lever C2008-10 to the PCM C175B-24. - Read and record all DTCs Install the scan tool and record all DTCs . Was DTC B1319:11 set? Yes: GO to 2 . No: The issue may not be the BSIA system. REFER to «SYMPTOM CHART: EXTERNAL CONTROLS»(ref-517576-S39641121422012121200000) .
- Check BCM FUSE 18 (10A) Ignition OFF. Remove the BCM fuse 18 (10A). Check the BCM fuse 18 (10A). Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to 3 . No: GO to 4 .
- Check the BCM for an internal short Disconnect the BCM C2280B. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals. Install a new fuse. Did the fuse fail? Yes: INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to «BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA)»(ref-517607-S22029955872012121200000) Or «BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA)»(ref-517607-S10277508012012121200000) . No: GO to 4 .
- Check the BSIA power circuit for a short to ground Disconnect the selector lever C2008. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals. Measure the resistance of circuit CET53 (BU/OG) from the selector lever C2008-3 to ground. Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 CET43 (BU/OG) Ground Ground Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? Yes: INSTALL a new selector lever. REFER to «SELECTOR LEVER»(ref-517576-S29448074232012121200000) . No: REPAIR circuit CET53 (BU/OG) for a short to ground. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

- Check the BSIA power circuit for an open Disconnect the selector lever C2008. Disconnect the BCM C2280B. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals. Measure the resistance of circuit CET53 (BU/OG) from the selector lever C2008-3 to the BCM C2280B-49. Selector Lever BCM C2008 C2280B Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 CET53 (BU/OG) 49 CET53 (BU/OG) Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to 3 . No: REPAIR circuit CET53 (BU/OG) for an open. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Check the BSIA ground circuit for an open Measure the resistance of circuit GD233 (BK) from the selector lever C2008-4 to ground. Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 4 GD233 (BK) Ground Ground Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to 4 . No: REPAIR circuit GD233 (BK) for an open. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Check BSIA power circuit for voltage Ignition ON. Measure for voltage on circuit CET53 (BU/OG) from the selector lever C2008-3 to ground. Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 CET53 (BU/OG) Ground Ground Is any voltage present? Yes: REPAIR circuit CET53 (BU/OG) for a short to power. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. No: INSTALL a new selector lever. REFER to «SELECTOR LEVER»(ref-517576-S29448074232012121200000) .

- NOTE: If it is necessary to use the override procedure to move the selector lever out of the PARK position, it is possible that an electrical failure has occurred. Using the scan tool check for DTCs This vehicle is equipped with a brake shift interlock feature that prevents the selector lever from being moved out of PARK when the ignition is in the ON position until the brake pedal is applied. If the selector lever cannot be moved out of the PARK position when the ignition is in the ON position and the brake pedal is applied: Apply the parking brake.
- Open the forward storage compartment and remove the rubber protective cover.
- Using a suitable tool, carefully pry off and remove the BSIA access cover.
- NOTE: Storage bin has been removed for clarity. From the front of the selector lever, locate the BSIA, apply the brake, pull and hold the BSIA lever while moving the selector lever into NEUTRAL.
- Install the BSIA access cover.
- Install the rubber protective cover and close the forward storage compartment.
- Press the brake pedal, start the vehicle and release the parking brake.

- Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.
- Place the selector lever in DRIVE.
- Place the manual control lever in DRIVE. Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops. Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise one detent.
- Unlock the adjuster. Pry the latch up. Push the lock tab to slide it over.
- Slide the selector lever cable end forward or backward to align it with the manual control lever.
- With the adjuster locking tab released, connect the selector lever cable end to the manual control lever.
- NOTE: After locking the adjuster, pull back on the adjuster to make sure it is securely installed. Slide the release tab back to lock the adjuster.
- Verify the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only and the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to «JACKING AND LIFTING»(ref-517532-S17733021342012121200000) for lifting points.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. REFER to «INTAKE AIR SYSTEM COMPONENTS - EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-517563-S09135048742012121200000) .
- Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.
- Release the 2 tabs, remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket.
- Remove the selector lever cable bracket pushpin.
- Position the drivers seat to the full rearward and downward position and fully recline the seat back.
- Remove the LH floor console side trim panel.
- NOTE: The console upper finish panel is removed for clarity. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the selector lever.
- Remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket and discard the selector lever cable retaining clip. Release the 2 selector cable retaining tabs and pull the selector lever outward.
- Position the carpet aside.
- Release the selector lever cable from the pin-type retainer.
- Remove the 2 nuts from the grommet, route the selector lever cable from the engine compartment through the floor and remove the selector lever cable from the passenger compartment.

- Install the selector lever cable, position the grommet in place and install the 2 nuts. Tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- Attach the selector lever cable to the pin-type retainer.
- Position the carpet back.
- Install a new plastic selector lever cable retaining clip on the selector lever cable and install the selector lever cable into the selector lever cable bracket.
- NOTE: The console upper finish panel is removed for clarity. Connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever.
- Install the LH floor console side trim panel.
- Position the drivers seat back to the original position.
- Place the selector lever in DRIVE.
- Install the selector lever cable bracket pushpin.
- NOTE: To prevent selector lever cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable between the manual control lever and the selector lever cable bracket. NOTE: When installing the selector lever cable, make sure that the selector lever cable locking tabs are locked in place. Press the selector lever cable into the selector lever cable bracket and listen for the selector lever cable retainer to click in place. Pull back on the selector lever cable to make sure that the selector lever is locked into the selector lever cable bracket. Install the selector lever cable in the selector lever cable bracket.
- Place the manual control lever in DRIVE. Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops. Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise one detent.
- Unlock the adjuster. Pry the latch up. Push the lock tab to slide it over.
- Slide the selector lever cable end forward or backward to align it with the manual control lever.
- NOTE: To prevent selector lever cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable between the manual control lever and the selector lever cable bracket. NOTE: When installing the selector lever cable end, make sure that the selector lever cable end is correctly installed onto the manual control lever ball stud. Pull back on the selector lever cable end to make sure that the selector lever cable end is correctly installed onto the manual control lever ball stud. With the adjuster locking tab released, connect the selector lever cable end to the manual control lever.
- Slide the release tab back to lock the adjuster.
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. REFER to «INTAKE AIR SYSTEM COMPONENTS - EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-517563-S09135048742012121200000) .

- Apply the parking brake.
- Position the drivers seat to the full rearward and downward position and fully recline the seat back.
- Remove the LH floor console side trim panel.
- Pull the RH floor console side trim panel outward to release the top 3 retaining clips separating the floor console side trim panel from the console upper finish panel.
- Position the latch trim panel aside.
- Remove the console upper finish panel screw.
- NOTE: The RH floor console side trim panel is removed for clarity. Unclip the console upper finish panel from the console. Start at the rear and work forward pulling upward to release the clips.
- If equipped, disconnect the hill descent control switch electrical connector.
- If equipped, disconnect the ambient lighting electrical connector.
- If equipped, unclip the ambient light bar.
- Move the selector lever to the full rearward position.
- Release the 5 tabs and detach the selector lever boot from the console upper finish panel.
- Disconnect the audio input jack electrical connector the power point electrical connector the USB connector and remove the console upper finish panel.
- Disconnect the selector lever cable from the selector lever.
- Remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket and discard the selector lever retaining clip. Release the 2 selector cable retaining tabs and pull the selector lever outward.
- Disconnect the selector lever electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts and the selector lever. To Install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
