  1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
  2. Perform fuel system pressure release procedure before attempting any repairs. (Refer to «FUEL SYSTEMS»(ref-142492-S39306046262002080600000) ). WARNING: Wrap shop towels around fuel hose to catch any gasoline spillage.
  3. Disconnect fuel supply line quick connect at the fuel tube assembly. (Refer to «FUEL SYSTEMS»(ref-142492-S39306046262002080600000) ).
  4. Disconnect fuel injector connector and harness from injectors and fuel rail.
  5. Disconnect PCV hose from manifold. (Scheme 177)
  6. Remove the inlet air duct from intake manifold to throttle body.
  7. Remove bolt attaching lower intake manifold to support bracket. (Scheme 178)
  8. Remove engine oil dipstick from housing.
  9. Disconnect electrical connectors from MAP sensor and MTV actuator. (Scheme 177)
  10. Remove bolts attaching intake manifold to cylinder head.
  11. Move manifold forward for access to wiring connections. (Scheme 179)
  12. Disconnect the knock sensor. (Scheme 180)
  13. Disconnect brake booster hose. (Scheme 179)
  14. Remove intake manifold.

  1. Clean manifold sealing surfaces.
  2. If separated, install lower to upper manifold gasket and tighten bolt in sequence shown in to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.). (Scheme 181)
  3. Position NEW manifold gasket on cylinder head mounting surface, piloting on the 2 attaching studs.
  4. Loosely position manifold in engine compartment.
  5. Insert engine wiring harness between middle intake runners.
  6. Connect the knock sensor. (Scheme 180)
  7. Connect brake booster hose. (Scheme 179)
  8. Position manifold to cylinder head and install fasteners. Tighten fasteners in sequence shown in to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.). (Scheme 182)
  9. Install bolt securing lower manifold to bracket. (Scheme 178) Tighten bolt to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.).
  10. Connect MAP sensor and MTV actuator electrical connection. (Scheme 177)
  11. Install engine oil dipstick
  12. Connect inlet air duct to manifold and throttle body.
  13. Connect PCV hose to manifold. (Scheme 177)
  14. Connect fuel injector connectors and harness to fuel rail.
  15. Connect fuel supply line to fuel rail. (Refer to «FUEL SYSTEMS»(ref-142492-S39306046262002080600000) ).
  16. Connect negative cable to battery.
