- Position engine and transmission assembly under vehicle and slowly lower the vehicle over the engine/transaxle assembly.
- Continue lowering vehicle until engine/transaxle aligns to mounting locations. Install mounting bolts at the right and left engine/transaxle mounts. ( (Схема №12) and (Схема №13) ). Tighten bolts to 118 N.m (87 ft. lbs.).
- Install upper engine torque strut. (Refer to «TORQUE STRUT»(ref-177391-S17430440122005052700000) ).
- Remove safety straps from engine/transaxle assembly. Slowly raise vehicle enough to remove the engine dolly and cradle.
- Raise vehicle on hoist.
- Install generator, lower bracket, and adjusting bolt.
- Install axle shafts. (Refer to «AXLE SHAFTS»(ref-152329) ).
- Automatic Transmission equipped vehicles: Install torque converter bolts.
- Manual Transmission equipped vehicles: Install drive plate to clutch module bolts.
- Install bolt securing power steering line to engine block.
- Install screws for power steering cooler (if equipped).
- Install dust shield, lateral bending brace and structural collar. (Схема №10)
- Install lower engine torque strut. (Refer to «TORQUE STRUT»(ref-177391-S17430440122005052700000) ).
- Connect exhaust system isolators and catalytic converter to exhaust manifold. Torque exhaust fasteners to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.).
- Connect downstream oxygen sensor.
- Install A/C compressor and lines. (Refer to «MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS»(ref-139307) ).
- Install accessory drive belts. (Refer to «COOLING SYSTEMS»(ref-177701) ).
- Ensure oil pan drain plug is tight. Install NEW oil filter.
- Install accessory drive belt splash shield.
- Install front wheels and lower vehicle.
- Install power steering pump and reservoir. Connect power steering lines.
- Manual Transmission equipped vehicles: Connect clutch hydraulic line. Connect transmission shift linkage. Connect transmission electrical connectors. NOTE: It is not necessary to bleed the clutch hydraulic system. The quick-connect fittings close immediately after disconnection; allowing no fluid to escape.
- Automatic Transmission equipped vehicles: Connect transmission oil cooler lines using service splice kit. Refer to instructions provided with kit. Connect transmission electrical connectors. Connect transmission shift linkage.
- Connect fuel line. (Refer to «FUEL SYSTEMS»(ref-142460-S01243579602002080500000) ).
- Connect heater hoses.
- Connect all ground straps.
- Install and connect powertrain control module (PCM).
- Connect engine wiring harness.
- Connect lower radiator hose.
- Install radiator fan. (Refer to «COOLING SYSTEMS»(ref-177701) ).
- Install upper radiator hose.
- Fill cooling system. (Refer to «COOLING SYSTEMS»(ref-177701) ).
- Install battery tray and battery.
- Install air cleaner housing assembly and connect intake duct to intake manifold. (Refer to «AIR CLEANER HOUSING»(ref-177391-S10665184012005060100000) ).
- Connect all throttle body electrical connectors and linkage.
- Fill engine crankcase with proper oil to correct level.
- Fill power steering fluid reservoir with proper fluid to correct level.
- Perform camshaft and crankshaft timing relearn procedure as follows: Connect the DRB III® scan tool to the data link (diagnostic) connector. This connector is located in the passenger compartment; at the lower edge of instrument panel near the steering column. Turn the ignition switch on. Access "Engine" diagnostics. Select "Miscellaneous" option. Select "ReLearn Cam Crank" option and follow directions on DRBIII® screen.
- Evacuate and recharge Air Conditioning system (if equipped.). (Refer to «MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS»(ref-139307) ).
- Start engine and run until operating temperature is reached.
- Ensure engine is properly positioned by performing torque strut adjustment. (Refer to «TORQUE STRUT»(ref-177391-S17430440122005052700000) ).
- Adjust transmission linkage, if necessary.
