Description: Removal & Installation Dodge Neon II

REMOVAL

1. Remove the cylinder head cover. (Refer to «CYLINDER HEAD COVER»(ref-177391-S15136192452005060100000) ).
2. Using an appropriate tool, carefully remove spark plug tube seals. Care should be taken not to damage cylinder head cover sealing surfaces.

1. Clean all sealing surfaces. NOTE: Position seal with the concave side facing the installation tool. (Scheme 77)
2. Install seals using Special Tool MB-998306. (Scheme 77) Only hand pressure on tool is needed to install NEW seals.
3. Install the cylinder head cover. (Refer to «CYLINDER HEAD COVER»(ref-177391-S15136192452005060100000) ).

1. Remove valve spring. (Refer to «VALVE SPRINGS»(ref-177391-S15956464312005060100000) ).
2. Remove valve stem seals by using a valve stem seal tool. (Scheme 78)

1. The valve stem seal/valve spring seat should be pushed firmly and squarely over the valve guide using the valve stem as guide. Do Not Force seal against top of guide. When installing the valve retainer locks, compress the spring only enough to install the locks. CAUTION: Do not remove garter spring around the seal at the top of the valve stem seal. (Scheme 79)
2. Install valve spring. (Refer to «VALVE SPRINGS»(ref-177391-S15956464312005060100000) ).
