Torque Converter Clutch Off Pressure Test
- Remove plug and install pressure gauge in torque converter clutch off pressure tap. see scheme 9 Place gearshift lever in "OD" or "D" (overdrive switch released) position.
- Allowing front wheels to rotate, accelerate until vehicle speed indicates 50 MPH.
- Torque converter clutch off pressure should be less than 5 psi (.35 kg/cm 2 ). This pressure test checks torque converter clutch hydraulic circuit. Remove pressure gauge. Install and tighten pressure tap plug to 45 INCH Lbs. (5.1 N.m).
