- CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION Turn the ignition on and open one of the front doors. NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Amplifier DTCs. With the scan tool, record and erase the Amplifier DTCs. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on. Turn the Radio on. Adjust the speakers to the front and center. With the scan tool, read the active Amplifier DTCs. Does the scan tool display active: B1460-11-CHANNEL 1 AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND? Yes Go To 2 No Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
- CHECK THE LEFT INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) SPEAKER Make sure that one of the front doors are still open. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Left I/P Speaker harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Turn the Radio. With the scan tool, read the active Amplifier DTCs. Does the scan tool display active: B1460-11-CHANNEL 1 AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND? Yes Go To 3 No Replace the Left Instrument Panel Speaker in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «SPEAKER, REMOVAL»(ref-646238-S17513211412014072800000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
- CHECK THE (X209) AMPLIFIED LEFT FRONT I/P SPEAKER (+) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Amplifier C1 harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit. Is the resistance below 10K Ohms? Yes Repair the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit for a short to ground. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Go To 4
- CHECK THE (X299) AMPLIFIED LEFT FRONT I/P SPEAKER (-) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Measure the resistance between ground and the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit. Is the resistance below 10K Ohms? Yes Repair the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit for a short to ground. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. - CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE LEFT FRONT I/P SPEAKER Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Left I/P Speaker harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Turn the Radio on and set the volume to 25. Adjust the speakers to the front and center. With a voltmeter set to read in A/C voltage, measure the voltage of the Amplified Left I/P Speaker circuits in the Amplified Left I/P Speaker harness connector. Is the voltage present above 1.0 volt? Yes Replace the Amplified Left I/P Speaker in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «SPEAKER, REMOVAL»(ref-646238-S17513211412014072800000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Go To 3

When the ignition is cycled on.
This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) sets if a Direct Current (DC) offset occurs on the output channel, when the ignition is cycled on. The Amplifier shall set a DTC after a maturity rate of four to six seconds.

Is the voltage present greater than 1.0 volt? Yes Replace the Amplified Right I/P Speaker in accordance with the Service Information. - CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCs NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged before proceeding. Using the scan tool, read the active PCM DTCs. Are there any battery or charging system DTCs present? Yes Refer to «DTC INDEX»(ref-646339) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. No Go To 2
- TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION Using the scan tool, record and erase the Amplifier DTCs. Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle for two minutes. Using the scan tool, read the Amplifier DTCs. Does the scan tool display: B2199-16-BATTERY VOLTAGE - CIRCUIT VOLTAGE BELOW THRESHOLD? Yes Go To 3 No Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
- CHECK THE (A931) FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE NOTE: Check the fuse for an open. If the fuse is open, make sure to check for a short to ground prior to replacing the fuse. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Amplifier C1 harness connector. Ignition on, engine not running. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (A931) Fused B(+) circuit in the Amplifier C1 harness connector. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Does the test light illuminate brightly? Yes Go To 4 No Repair the open or excessive resistance in the (A931) Fused B(+) circuit. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
- CHECK THE (Z911) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z911) Ground circuit in the Amplifier C1 harness connector. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Does the test light illuminate brightly? Yes Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «AMPLIFIER, REMOVAL»(ref-646238-S06891684492014072800000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Repair the open or excessive resistance in the (Z911) Ground circuit. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
