DIAGNOSTIC TEST

  1. CHECK THE 40-WAY CONNECTION AT THE HVAC/ AUDIO SWITCH BANK Turn the ignition off. Inspect the connection at the rear of the HVAC/ Audio Switch Bank Is the connection clean and secure? Yes Go To 2 No Repair the connection as needed. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  2. CHECK THE 40-WAY CONNECTION AT THE INTEGRATED CENTER STACK (ICS) Inspect the connection at the rear of the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Is the connection clean and secure? Yes Replace the 40-Way jumper harness between the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) and HVAC/ Audio Switch Bank. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Repair the connection as needed. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .

VERIFY OPERATION OF THE BUTTON

  1. With the scan tool, erase ICS DTCs.
  2. Press and release the button(s) and controls three times.
  3. Wait 120 seconds.
  4. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Is DTC B11E8-2A-HVAC/ AUDIO LOWER SWITCH BANK BUTTON(S) STUCK active? Yes Replace the HVAC / Audio Switch Bank in accordance with the Service Information. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  1. CHECK THE VIDEO CABLE CONNECTION AT THE INTEGRATED CENTER STACK (ICS) SCREEN MODULE Turn the ignition off. Inspect the video cable connection at the rear of the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Screen Module. Is the video cable connection secure and undamaged? Yes Go To 2 No Repair the video cable connection as needed. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  2. CHECK THE VIDEO CABLE CONNECTION AT THE RADIO Inspect the video cable connection at the rear of the Radio. Is the video cable connection secure and undamaged? Yes Go To 3 No Repair the video cable connection as needed. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  3. TEST THE LVDS CABLE NOTE: To continue with this test, you must secure a Known Good Low Voltage Differential Signal (LVDS) Cable. Connect a known good LVDS cable between the Radio and ICS. With the scan tool, erase all ICS DTCs. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active ICS DTCs. Does the scan tool display: B156D-00-LOW VOLTAGE DIFFERENTIAL SIGNAL (LVDS) VIDEO CABLE as Active? Yes Go To 4 No Replace the Low Voltage Differential Signal (LVDS) Video Cable in accordance with the Service Information. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  4. TEST THE RADIO NOTE: To continue with this test, you must secure a Known Good Radio. Turn the ignition off. Connect a known good Radio to the LVDS cable. With the scan tool, erase all ICS DTCs. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active ICS DTCs. Does the scan tool display: B156D-00-LOW VOLTAGE DIFFERENTIAL SIGNAL (LVDS) VIDEO CABLE as Active? Yes Replace the ICS in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «MODULE, INTEGRATED CENTER STACK SCREEN, REMOVAL»(ref-646224-S27839863502014072800000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «RADIO, REMOVAL»(ref-646238-S04791459302014072800000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .

INTEGRATED CENTER STACK (ICS) SCREEN MODULE HIGH TEMPERATURE

  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. With the scan tool, clear all ICS DTCs.
  3. Turn the ICS on.
  4. With the scan tool, read the DTC information. Does the scan tool read: B156E-4B INTEGRATED CENTER STACK (ICS)- OVER TEMPERATURE as active? Yes Turn the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Screen Module off and allow the unit to cool. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Test Complete. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  1. CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCs NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged before proceeding. Using the scan tool, read the active PCM DTCs. Are there any battery or charging system DTCs present? Yes Refer to «DTC INDEX»(ref-646339) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. No Go To 2
  2. TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION Using the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs. Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle for two minutes. Using the scan tool, read the DTCs. Does the scan tool display: B210D-16-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW - CIRCUIT VOLTAGE BELOW THRESHOLD as active? Yes Go To 3 No Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  3. CHECK THE (A937) FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) harness connector. Ignition on, engine not running. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (A937) Fused B(+) circuit in the Integrated Center Stack harness connector. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Does the test light illuminate brightly? Yes Go To 4 No Repair the open or excessive resistance in the (A937) Fused B(+) circuit. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  4. CHECK THE (Z911) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12 volts, check the (Z911) Ground circuit in the Integrated Center Stack harness connector. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Does the test light illuminate brightly? Yes Replace the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Screen Module in accordance with the Service Information. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Repair the open or excessive resistance in the (Z911) Ground circuit. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .
  1. CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCS Using the scan tool, read the active PCM DTCs. Are there any battery or charging system DTCs? Yes Refer to «DTC INDEX»(ref-646339) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. No Go To 2
  2. TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION Using the scan tool, record and erase the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) DTCs. Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle for two minutes. Using the scan tool, read the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) DTCs. Does the scan tool display: B210E-17-BATTERY VOLTAGE HIGH - CIRCUIT VOLTAGE ABOVE THRESHOLD as active? Yes Replace the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Screen Module in accordance with the Service Information. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) . No Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-646248-S24006549342014072800000) .

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. With the scan tool, read active DTCs. Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Refer to «DTC INDEX»(ref-646339) and perform the U0019-01-CAN B BUS - GENERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE diagnostic procedure. No Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-646292-S21791958192014072800000) and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. With the scan tool, read active DTCs. Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Refer to «DTC INDEX»(ref-646339) and perform the U0019-88-CAN B BUS OFF diagnostic procedure. No Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-646292-S21791958192014072800000) and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
