GENERATOR

TEST CONDITIONS
1. Engine RPM : 2500 RPM (ENGINE HOT)
2. Voltage Output : 13.0 - 16.0 V

GENERATOR TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

1.4L

  1. Carefully position the generator (3) up to the engine block.
  2. Loosely install the bottom two generator mounting retainers (2).
  3. Install the top generator mounting retainer (1).
  4. Tighten the generator mounting retainers to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
  5. Install the generator B+ cable on the generator stud.
  6. Install the B+ cable retainer, and tighten to 4 N.m (36 In. lbs.).
  7. Connect the field generator harness Connector.
  8. Install the right side axle shaft (1).
  9. Install the belly pan (1) covering the bottom side of the engine compartment.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to «BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION»(ref-646235-S37622997972014072800000) .
  12. Connect the battery negative cable.
  13. Start the engine and verify the generator is operating properly.

2.0L

  1. Install the generator to the engine block. Tighten the bolts to 25 N.M (18 ft. lbs.).
  2. Install the positive cable to the rear of the generator stud. Tighten the nut to 4 N.M (36 In. lbs.).
  3. Connect the field generator harness connector.
  4. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to «BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION»(ref-646235-S37622997972014072800000) .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Install the engine cover.
