WarningFollowing any work requiring opening of the fuel circuit, carry out the procedure referred to as "long pre-control" of the fuel pump to pressurise the fuel circuit. refer to chapter: pressurising the fuel supply circuit
Valve SCHRADER
The SCHRADER valve is like a tyre valve
Functions of the SCHRADER valve
- Depressurising the circuit
- Pressure check
- Delivery check
Fuel supply cut-off
If a pyrotechnic component is deployed, the fuel supply is cut off
When restarting the vehicle
- Switch off the ignition
- Switch on the ignition (+APC)
Fuel pump (low pressure)
Role
The role of the fuel pump is to deliver fuel to the supply rail of the petrol injectors
A non-return valve integral to the fuel pump on the delivery circuit, maintains a residual pressure inside the engine fuel supply circuit
Description
The fuel pump is submerged in the fuel tank (12 volts supply)
The fuel pump is controlled on the order of the injection ECU by one of the following components
- The double injection relay
- The engine fusebox by an internal relay
Fuel filter
The fuel filter is incorporated in the tank unit/fuel pump module
Data
- Filtration threshold: 8 to 10 micrometres
- Replacement interval: none - maintenance free
Fuel pressure regulator
(9) fuel pressure regulator
The fuel pressure regulator is incorporated in the fuel tank unit assembly
The pressure of petrol inside the supply rail of the petrol injectors is regulated by the fuel pressure regulator
The pressure of petrol inside the supply rail of the petrol injectors is 3 bars
Petrol injectors (1331, 1332, 1333, 1334)
Role
The petrols injectors allow the quantity of fuel to be measured out
Function
Operation of the petrol injectors on each electrical pulse
- The injector's needle is lifted from its seat
- The pressurised fuel is sprayed upstream of the valve seat
The petrol injectors are controlled separately in the order of injection (1, 3, 4, 2), just before the intake phase (sequential injection)
Electrical features
Supply voltage: 12V
Resistance: approximately 12 ohms
