22 11 001 Replacing Right Engine Mount (N52K)

Necessary preliminary tasks

  1. Secure engine. Refer to «11 00 670 SECURING ENGINE IN INSTALLATION POSITION (N62)»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-repair-n62__11-00-670-securing-engine-in) in installation position
  2. Remove reinforcement plate. Refer to «31 10 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REINFORCEMENT PLATE»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/axle-shafts/#front-axle-repair__31-10-010-removing-and-installingreplacing)
  3. Remove heat shields.
  4. Remove engine support arm. Refer to «22 11 100 Replacing Right Engine Support Arm (N52K)»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-repair-n52__22-11-100-replacing-right-engine) .

Release screws (1) and remove engine mount (2).

Tightening torque 22 11 1AZ. Refer to 22 11 ENGINE SUSPENSION .

Installation

Holes (1) in engine mount must point to middle of vehicle.

22 11 011 Replacing Left Engine Mount (N52K)

Necessary preliminary tasks

  1. Secure engine. Refer to «11 00 670 SECURING ENGINE IN INSTALLATION POSITION (N62)»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-repair-n62__11-00-670-securing-engine-in) in installation position
  2. Remove reinforcement plate. Refer to «31 10 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REINFORCEMENT PLATE»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/axle-shafts/#front-axle-repair__31-10-010-removing-and-installingreplacing)
  3. Remove engine support arm. Refer to «22 11 100 Replacing Right Engine Support Arm (N52K)»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-repair-n52__22-11-100-replacing-right-engine) .

Release screws (1) and remove engine mount (2).

Tightening torque 22 11 1AZ. Refer to 22 11 ENGINE SUSPENSION .

Installation

22 11 100 Replacing Right Engine Support Arm (N52K)

Necessary preliminary tasks

22 11 110 Replacing Left Engine Support Arm (N52K)

Necessary preliminary tasks

  1. Secure engine «11 00 670 SECURING ENGINE IN INSTALLATION POSITION (N62)»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-repair-n62__11-00-670-securing-engine-in) . Refer to in installation position
  2. Remove reinforcement plate. Refer to «31 10 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REINFORCEMENT PLATE»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/axle-shafts/#front-axle-repair__31-10-010-removing-and-installingreplacing)
  3. Remove upper section of microfilter housing. Refer to «64 31 081 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING MICROFILTER HOUSING»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#heating-and-air-conditioning-repair__64-31-081-removing-and-installingreplacing)
  4. Remove heat shields
  5. Remove manifold.
  6. Remove air ducts

Release screw (1).

Release bracket (2) with oil line.

Release screws and engine support arm.

Tightening torque 22 11 3AZ. Refer to 22 11 ENGINE SUSPENSION .

22 32 001 Replacing Rubber Mount For Transmission Mounting

Special Tools Required

  1. 22 1 016 «22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-special-tools-n52-n62)
  2. 22 1 017 «22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-special-tools-n52-n62)
  3. 22 1 101 «22 1 100 FIXTURE»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-special-tools-n52-n62)
  4. 22 1 102 «22 1 100 FIXTURE»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-special-tools-n52-n62)
  5. 22 1 103 «22 1 100 FIXTURE»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-special-tools-n52-n62)
  6. 33 4 465 «33 4 460 SET OF TOOLS»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/axle-shafts/#rear-axle-special-tools)

Necessary preliminary tasks

  1. Remove cross-member. Refer to for transmission mounting «22 32 050 Replacing Cross-Member For Transmission Mounting»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/mechanical/#engine-and-gearbox-suspension-repair-n52__22-32-050-replacing-cross-member-for)

Place special tool 22 1 016. Refer to 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS on opening (1) and insert screw (2) until hand-tight against housing.

Pull out rubber mount with special tools 22 1 101/ 33 4 465. Refer to 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS and nut (22 1 017) 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS .

Installation

Arrow on rubber mount must point to arrow on housing.

Coat housing bore and rubber mount with Circolight, refer to BMW Parts Service.

Insert special tool 22 1 102 with pins into openings of rubber mount. Refer to 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS

Install rubber mount with special tools 22 1 102/22 1 103/33 4 465 and 22 1 017. Refer to 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS .

22 32 050 Replacing Cross-Member For Transmission Mounting

Special Tools Required

Supporting Transmission

Support with special tools 23 4 050, 23 0 132 and 00 2 030 00 2 030 UNIVERSAL HYDRO-LIFTER BASIC UNIT .

Secure transmission with tensioning strap (1).

Tasks are described in TRANSMISSION BRACKET .

Release screws.

Tightening torque 22 32 4AZ 22 32 TRANSMISSION MOUNTS .

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 22 32 5AZ 22 32 TRANSMISSION MOUNTS .

Remove cross-member.

  2. Remove heat shields
  3. Remove exhaust system «18 00 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM (N62TU)»(/bmw/x5/e70-2006-2010/remont/exhaust/#exhaust-repair-n52__18-00-020-removing-and-installing) .
