Work sequence
- Disconnect electrical harness connector from Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
- Connect VAS5051 tester. Refer to «VAS 5051 vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system, connecting and selecting functions»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb__vas-5051-vehicle-diagnostic-testing-and) and select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics". Engine must run at idle during this.
Requirement
- Engine running at idle select "address word" 01 and "04" the "Initiate Basic Setting" function.

- Enter "107" in button field -2- for "display group number 107" and press Q button to confirm input.

- Click on <-- - button
- Re-connect Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
- For further fault-finding, perform the next test step in the DTC table.
If specified value "System OK" is not obtained in display field 4
- Click on <-- - button
- Clean air guide in throttle valve control module using a lint-free cloth and methylated spirits.
- Adapt throttle valve control module. Refer to «Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-, adapting»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb__throttle-valve-control-module-j338-adapting)
- Repeat test sequence: Oxygen sensor control-short trip, measuring value block 107 in Basic Setting 04.
- Re-connect Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
- Erase DTC memory. Refer to «Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, erasing»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb__diagnostic-trouble-code-dtc-memory-erasing) .
- Perform a road test. Observe safety precautions. Refer to «Safety precautions»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb)
- DTC memory checked. Refer to «Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, checking»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb__diagnostic-trouble-code-dtc-memory-checking) .
