Basic setting

With engine stopped and ignition switched on, the following operation can be carried out with the "Function 04" basic setting

1. Adaptation of the Throttle Drive Control to the Engine Control Module (ECM). 2. Vehicles with automatic transmission: Adaptation of kick-down function of Throttle Position (TP) Sensor to Engine Control Module (ECM). With the engine running, the following operations can be performed with the basic setting function

1. Generation of readiness code. Refer to «Readiness code, generating»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb__readiness-code-generating)
2. Performance of Oxygen Sensor (O2S) and Oxygen Sensor control (Refer to «Oxygen Sensor (O2S) and Oxygen Sensor control before catalytic converter, checking»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb__oxygen-sensor-o2s-and-oxygen-sensor) )

Conditions for operations with engine running

1. No DTCs stored in Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory
2. Coolant temperature at least 80 ° C.
3. Electrical devices switched off (coolant fan must not run during the test).
4. Air conditioning switched off.

1. Vehicles with automatic transmission: Selector lever in position P or N.

Work sequence

1. Connect VAS 5051 tester. Refer to «VAS 5051 vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system, connecting and selecting functions»(/audi/a4/b6-2000-2006/remont/blowers-superchargers-turbochargers/#18l-4-cyl-5v-turbo-engine-controls-fuel-injection-ignition-engine-codes-amb__vas-5051-vehicle-diagnostic-testing-and) and select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics". Ignition must be switched on for this.

or, depending on desired operation

1. Start engine.

1. In selection -1-, click on diagnostic function "04 - Basic Setting".

1. Enter desired 3-digit display group number in button field -2- and press -Q- button to confirm input.

1. Press buttons -0-, -0- and -1- to select "display group number 001" and press -Q- button to confirm input.
