Install piston ring with TOP mark facing upward (if present). Install plain piston ring with inner chamfer facing upward. Install stepped piston ring with outer chamfer facing upward. If ring end gap and side clearance are not within specification, replace ring and/or piston as necessary. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGS SPECIFICATIONS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
