GEAR SELECTOR ASSEMBLY

There are two types of gear selector assembly for the 4T65EV (-GT). There is one gear selector assembly with seven positions and one with the Geartronic function.

The gear selector has seven positions with the following functions

1. P Park position
2. R Back-up (reverse) position
3. N Neutral position
4. D Automatic shifting between all gears. (Does not apply when winter (W) mode is selected)
5. 3 Fourth gear is blocked in this position
6. 2 Only first and second gear function in this position
7. 1 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears are blocked in this position.

Gear selector assemblies with Geartronic are unique in appearance and function. In addition to P/R/N/D modes they also have a "manual" (MAN) shifting mode.

The gear selector for Geartronic has the following functions

1. P Park position
2. R Back-up (reverse) position
3. N Neutral position
4. D Automatic shifting between all gears. (Does not apply when the mode selector is in winter mode (W), for further information see, Function/Shifting program (Winter mode))
5. MAN Manual shifting. There are three hall sensors on the gear selector module (GSM). A permanent magnet on the gear selector lever affects the output signals of the sensors to the gear selector module (GSM).

There are two new types of gear selector assembly for the AW55-50. There is one gear selector assembly with seven positions and one with the Geartronic-function.

The gear selector has seven positions with the following functions

1. P Park.
2. R Reverse.
3. N Neutral.
4. D Automatic gearshift between all gears (does not apply when the mode selector is in winter mode (W)). For more information see, Function/Shifting program/Winter mode.
5. 4 Fifth gear is blocked in this mode
6. 3 Fourth and fifth gear are blocked in this mode
7. L Only first and second gear function in this mode. (Speed variation depends on which engine the gearbox is working with and does not apply when the mode selector is in winter mode (W), for further information see, Function/Shifting program/Winter mode).

5. Manual shifting. Three Hall sensors are fitted on the gear selector module. A permanent magnet on the gear selector lever acts on the sensor output signals to the gear selector module
