Press spacers onto rack

Modification of steering limiters

Grind the steering limiters on the wheel spindle (both sides) a maximum of 4 mm

Installing power steering pump

Disconnect battery ground cable

Install the steering shaft universal joint on the steering gear. Tighten with 20 Nm

Install the steering shaft gaiter

Fold down the outer part of the gaiter against the lock ring's flange. Make sure that it has contact all the way around

Center the steering column in relation to the instrument panel's slot

Lower the rear edge of the sub-frame

Allow steering gear to rest on subframe

When replacing steering gear: and mounting for center mounting. Do not tighten bracket screws yet

Check that tie rod position is the same as when removed

Reconnect steering gear input shaft to lower universal joint

Install steering gear crash guard

Mount wheels

Replacing power steering pump

Installing ignition switch interlock cable and windshield wiper stalk

Installing knee bolster

Installing panel and steering wheel covers

Replacing the steering column / steering shaft / seal / bearing / lower steering shaft joint

Install the control module for the immobilizer.
