- Ignition on. Click on the VCT2000 symbol to read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). NOTE: When reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), the climate control module will automatically be updated with new settings for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) ECC- 211, ECC-212, ECC-231 and ECC-232 (temperature damper motor position sensors). This remedy means that the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) will no longer be detected and stored. After the update, the LED will not flash if diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored for ECC-312, ECC-314 and ECC-322.

General Information
By connecting the Scan Tool (ST) to the data link connector (DLC) it is possible to read out information on possible faults in the system as well as get other information. The Volvo Scan Tool (ST) communicates with the control module via a standard communications interface.
Connecting the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) is described in Volvo Scan Tool (ST) .
Scheme 3
The data link connector (DLC) is located in the car.
To establish communication with the power seat control module the following conditions must be met
- Battery voltage must be more than approx 11 V.
The ignition can be turned OFF.
The Volvo Scan Tool (ST) with memory cassette makes it possible to communicate with the system control modules in the car. By connecting the Scan Tool to the car's data link connector (DLC), diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) can be read and erased, components and functions activated, input and output signals read and other Scan Tool services accessed.
