Installing component

1. Connect the single pole connector to the combustion fan motor.
2. Install the heater fan shroud.

1. Continue

1. Check the yellow/red wire between location 4 on the control unit connector and the combustion fan motor single pole connector for an open circuit, as described in «Open-circuit, permanent faults»(ref-403956-S01344180332011061000000) .
2. Repair the fault or replace the wire.

1. Ignition off. Remove the 8-pin and 2-pin connectors from the control module (terminal 9, 10) Remove the heater fan shroud Remove the combustion unit Check that the temperature of the thermostat is below 55°C Connect an ohmmeter across both operating thermostat terminals.

The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohms.

2. NOT OK Refer to «Replacing the component»(ref-404105-S05064108432011061000000)

1. Replace the operating thermostat. See «Replacement of thermostats»(ref-438305-S34438118582011120100000) .

Scheme 348

1. Ignition off. Connect an ohmmeter to the green / red cable between terminal 5 at the control module 8-pin connector and the operating thermostat. Connect an ohmmeter to the green / yellow cable between terminal 9 at the control module 2-pin connector and the operating thermostat.

The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohms on both the measurements.

2. NOT OK Refer to «Checking for an open-circuit»(ref-404105-S16576570582011061000000)

1. Check the green / red or green / yellow thermostat cable for an open-circuit. Rectify the fault or replace the wiring. See «Open-circuit, permanent faults»(ref-403956-S01344180332011061000000) .

1. Replace the operating thermostat. See «Replacement of thermostats»(ref-438305-S34438118582011120100000) .
