Scheme 748
  1. Ignition on.
  2. Start the blower fan or let the engine idle.
  3. Read off the damper motor position sensor.
  4. Activate damper motor by slowly turning the driver's side temperature control between minimum and maximum heat settings. Check that position sensor values change when the temperature control is turned. If value changes this indicates that damper motor is OK.

Does the position sensor value change?

  1. YES Refer to «Intermittent Fault»(ref-408543-S28615008412011071200000)
  2. NO Refer to «Checking Components»(ref-408543-S16038486782011071200000)

General Information About Programming

Note. Before replacing a control module all programmed data must be read out first if this is possible. This is so that the new control module can be programmed with the same data. Check all the variable parameters for the new climate control module.

The ECC control module can be programmed with certain information. The purpose of the programming is to adjust the control module to the car version or when the requests of the driver for certain adjustments to the settings.

For more information about the values, see Description of ECC Programmed Data.

  1. Set the blower fan speed selector switch to AUTO.

Programming procedure

Select the desired setting from the list box and then press Continue to program the different settings and to receive more information about the different alternatives.

Other procedures

  1. Begin the programming procedure. Make one setting at a time. Work from the top of the list box to the bottom. Refer to «Programming Driver Position (LHD or RHD)»(ref-408543-S07166939232011071200000).
  2. Read off all programmed alternatives. Refer to «Reading Off the Programmed Values»(ref-408543-S07692066082011071200000).
  3. Exit without programming. OKAY: Troubleshooting has been completed.
