PROCEDURE

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER WINDOW) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that each door window regulator operates. Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-421963-S15539009672011092600000) . WARNING: Be careful to avoid injuries as this test causes vehicle parts to move. During the Active Test, the jam protection function does not operate.   2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-421963-S03177532662011092600000) . Check that each power window operates normally by opening and closing the window. Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-421963-S03630375062011092600000) . HINT: Each power window operates normally. NEXT: Go to next step
  3. CHECK WHETHER PARTS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED CORRECTLY Check that the power window components are installed correctly. OK Power window components are installed correctly. HINT: If the power window components are installed correctly, the problem has been caused by battery disconnection while the ignition switch was ON, or the motor being overheated. NG --> INSTALL PARTS CORRECTLY OK --> END

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH LH - REAR POWER WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR LH AND BODY GROUND) Disconnect the j1 rear power window regulator switch connector. Disconnect the K2 power window regulator motor connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   1. CHECK BASIC FUNCTION (WIRELESS AND POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM) Check that the wireless transmitter. Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-421951-S17714004342011092600000) and driver door key cylinder (key-linked switch). Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-421951-S17714004342011092600000) lock and unlock all the doors normally. RESULT Result Proceed to Transmitter and driver door key cylinder operate normally A Transmitter does not operate normally (w/ Smart Key System) B Transmitter does not operate normally (w/o Smart Key System) C Driver door key cylinder does not operate normally D B --> See step 4 C --> See step 7 D --> See step 5 A: Go to next step
  2. CHECK MANUAL UP/DOWN FUNCTION Check that the manual up/down function using the multiplex network master switch and power window regulator switches can operate all the power windows.   3. CHECK REMOTE UP/DOWN FUNCTION Check that the remote up/down function using the multiplex network master switch operates the power windows. Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-421963-S03630375062011092600000) . OK Remote up/down function is normal. NG --> See step 6 OK --> REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
  4. GO TO WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Smart Key System). Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-422209-S02609484092011092600000)
  5. GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Problem Symptoms Table). Refer to «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE»(ref-421951-S34033400362011092600000)
  6. GO TO OTHER PROBLEM (Proceed to Problem Symptoms Table). Refer to «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE»(ref-421963-S10627412852011092600000)
  7. GO TO WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/o Smart Key System). Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-421962-S05473766052011092600000)
  1. CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Check for LIN communication system DTCs related to the power window control system. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-422210-S16666442022011092600000) . OK LIN communication system DTCs are not output. NG --> See step 6 OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK POWER WINDOW OPERATION FUNCTION AFTER IGNITION SWITCH OFF Check the power window operation function after the ignition switch is turned off. Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-421963-S03630375062011092600000) . RESULT Result Proceed to Front side door is opened within 43 sec. but power windows can still operate A 43 sec. pass and power windows can still operate B B --> See step 8 A: Go to next step

  4. CHECK FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Open a front door and check that the map light illuminates. Refer to «INSPECTION»(ref-422222-S39523543222011092600000) . OK Map light illuminates. NG --> See step 7 OK: Go to next step
  5. CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Temporarily replace the driver side junction block with a new or normally functioning one. Check that the key-off operation function operates normally. NG --> See step 8 OK --> END (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
  6. GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-422210-S16666442022011092600000)
  7. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-422222-S04489092972011092600000)
  8. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-422214-S08215784352011092600000)
  1. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION) Initialize the power window regulator motor (applicable location). Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-421963-S03177532662011092600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  2. CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (AUTO UP/DOWN FUNCTION (APPLICABLE LOCATION)) Check that all door power windows move when the auto up/down function of the multiplex network master switch and power window regulator switch (for rear LH and rear RH sides) is operated. Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-421963-S03630375062011092600000) . OK Auto up/down function is normal (applicable location). NG --> See step 3 OK --> END (PROBLEM DUE TO INITIALIZATION FAILURE)
  3. CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT (APPLICABLE LOCATION) Remove the power window regulator motor. Install the window glass to the door glass run. Check if the power window regulator operates smoothly. Check that the window glass slides smoothly when sliding it up by hand. OK Window glass slides smoothly. HINT: Make sure that the following conditions are met: The window glass fits with the glass run without improper contact or deformation. Foreign objects are not caught in the glass run. WARNING: Perform initialization again. NG --> See step 4 OK --> INSTALL WINDOW GLASS CORRECTLY (REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECTS CAUSING IMPROPER FIT OR REPLACE PARTS)
  4. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR (APPLICABLE MOTOR). Refer to «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE»(ref-421963-S10627412852011092600000)

  2. CHECK JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION OPERATING RANGE Check if the jam protection function operates for applicable power window. HINT: The jam protection function does not operate between the fully closed position of the door glass and the position 4 mm (0.157 in.) below that. OK Jam protection function operates. NG --> See step 4 OK --> END
