Charging System - Generators & Regulators: Removal & Installation Toyota 4Runner IV

Charging System

Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Install drive belt. See BELT TENSION under ADJUSTMENTS. Tighten generator bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Removal - V8

Remove V-bank cover.
Remove engine under cover sub-assembly No. 1.
Disconnect battery cables.
Remove serpentine drive belt.
Remove battery.
Disconnect generator wire harness connector. Remove nut and wire from "B" terminal on back of generator.
Remove 2 mounting bolts and wire harness clamp bracket from generator.
Remove 2 bolts and generator.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten generator bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
