Transmission Fluid
Replace transmission fluid every 100,000 miles under normal driving conditions. Change fluid every 15,000 miles or 15 months under severe driving conditions.
RECOMMENDED FLUID
For all models, use DEXRON(R)-III.
DRAINING & REFILLING
- Lift up vehicle.
- When engine is cool, remove drain plug "1" from oil pan and drain Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). (Scheme 9)
- Install drain plug.
- Lower vehicle and fill with proper amount of recommended fluid. See «RECOMMENDED FLUID»(ref-151958-S04563395892003010900000).
- Check fluid level, at normal temperature. See «CHECKING FLUID LEVEL»(ref-151958-S01148079362003010900000). see scheme 3for Grand Vitara and Vitara or see scheme 4for XL-7.
