Lan Communication System (Diagnostics) (Except Wrx): Diagnosis

INSPECTION WITHOUT USING CAN DIAGNOSTIC

Before performing diagnostics, check the following item which might affect body integrated unit malfunctions.

Measure the battery voltage and check electrolyte. Standard voltage: 12 V or more Specific gravity: 1.260 or more
Check the fuse condition. Make sure that ampere of the fuse is setting value, and it is not blown out.
Check the connecting condition of harness and harness connector.
Confirm key illumination does not blink with ignition switch turned to ON.

INSPECTION USING CAN DIAGNOSTIC

Before performing diagnostics, check the following item which might affect body integrated unit malfunctions.

Confirm settings of body integrated unit are corresponded to vehicle equipment. < Refer to «OPERATION»(ref-560388-S01901385432013061300000) , Registration Body Integrated Unit. >
Make sure that the User Customizing of the body integrated unit matches the vehicle equipment. < Refer to «OPERATION»(ref-560388-S00094405942013061300000) , User Customizing. >
Confirm "Factory initial setting" of body integrated unit registrations is set to "Market".

DIAGNOSIS

Subaru Select Monitor communication line is open or shorted.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM

Not communicable with Subaru Select Monitor.

4 CHECK DTC. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read DTC of CAN system.	Is U1201 a current malfunction?	Go to step 5 .	It is possible that temporary poor communication occurs. Perform the clear memory.
5 CHECK CONTROL MODULE. Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the control modules other than body integrated unit in order. NOTE: When disconnecting ECM or VDC CM, connect resistance of 120 ohms between CAN Hi and CAN Lo as an alternative of end resistance. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read DTC of CAN system.	Is there any control module that U1201 is not detected as current malfunction?	Replace the control module.	Repeat 1 ) to 4 ) in step 5 until U1201 is not detected.

6 CHECK MODULE. Reinstall the A/B CM. Replace the module that the DTC has been detected. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0151 a current malfunction?	Replace the A/B CM. < Refer to AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE . >	System is normal.
7 CHECK HARNESS. Shake the harness, and check for poor contact. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0151 a current malfunction?	Repair the poor contact of harness, or replace the harness.	Go to step 8 .
8 CHECK CONNECTOR. Check the connector used for high speed CAN for poor contact.	Is there poor contact of connector?	Repair the connector that has poor contact, or replace harness.	It is possible that temporary poor communication occurs. Delete the DTC.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

No data received from combination meter.

Display of combination meter does not operate properly.

4 CHECK DTC. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read DTC of all the systems.	Is the meter data no-receive detected in several modules?	Replace the meter. < Refer to COMBINATION METER . >	Go to step 5 .
5 REPLACE MODULE. Replace the combination meter. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0155 a current malfunction?	Go to step 6 .	System is normal.
6 CHECK MODULE. Replace the current combination meter with the original combination meter. Replace the module that the DTC has been detected. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0155 a current malfunction?	Replace the combination meter. < Refer to COMBINATION METER . >	System is normal.
7 CHECK HARNESS. Shake the harness, and check for poor contact. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0155 a current malfunction?	Repair the poor contact of harness, or replace the harness.	Go to step 8 .
8 CHECK CONNECTOR. Check the connector used for high speed CAN for poor contact.	Is there poor contact of connector?	Repair the connector that has poor contact, or replace harness.	It is possible that temporary poor communication occurs. Delete the DTC.

5 REPLACE MODULE. Replace the A/C control panel. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0164 a current malfunction?	Go to step 6 .	System is normal.
6 CHECK MODULE. Restore the A/C control panel. Replace the module that the DTC has been detected. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0164 a current malfunction?	Replace the A/C control panel.	System is normal.
7 CHECK HARNESS. Shake the harness, and check for poor contact. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is U0164 a current malfunction?	Repair the poor contact of harness, or replace the harness.	Go to step 8 .
8 CHECK CONNECTOR. Check the connector used for high speed CAN for poor contact.	Is there poor contact of connector?	Repair the connector that has poor contact, or replace harness.	It is possible that temporary poor communication occurs. Delete the DTC.
