- Set the vehicle on a lift.
- Shift the select lever to "N" range.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Non-turbo model Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-357254-S32999093642010031100000) , Rear Exhaust Pipe. - Remove the heat shield cover.
- Remove the cable from arm assembly.
- Raise the claw of clamp and remove the cable.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the grip.
- Remove the hand brake boot cover.
- Remove the console front panel.
- Remove the console cover and console box. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-357250-S06797543912010031100000) , Console Box.
- Remove the indicator assembly.
- Remove the harness clips from the bracket.
- Remove the blind.
- Disconnect the connectors, and then remove the four bolts to take out the select lever assembly from vehicle body.

- Set the select lever to vehicle body.
- Tighten the four bolts to install the select lever to vehicle body, and then connect the connector. Temporarily tighten the bolt A. Tighten the bolt B. Tighten the bolt A. Tighten the bolts C and D. Tightening torque: 18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)
- Install the harness clips to the bracket.
- Install the console cover and console box. Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-357250-S40920619742010031100000) , Console Box.
- Shift the select lever to "N" range.
- Install the blind. CAUTION: The blind should be installed so that it is securely caught by tabs of the plate guide COM-PL.
- Install the indicator assembly.
- Install the console front panel.
- Install the hand brake boot cover.
- Install the grip.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Shift the range select lever to "N" range.
- Secure the cable to the bracket. Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-357268-S30796603972010031100000) , Select Cable.
- Adjust the select cable position. Refer to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-357268-S23525996392010031100000) , Select Cable.
- After the completion of adjustment, confirm that the select lever operates properly at all range positions.
- Install the heat shield cover.
- Install the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Non-turbo model Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-357254-S01911806842010031100000) , Rear Exhaust Pipe. Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-357254-S26780140732010031100000) , Muffler. Turbo model Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-357260-S40085387742010031100000) , Rear Exhaust Pipe. - Inspect the following items. When a malfunction is found in the inspection, adjust the select cable and inhibitor switch. Refer to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-357268-S23525996392010031100000) , Select Cable. Refer to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-357244-S24167512312010031100000) , Inhibitor Switch. Engine starts when the select lever is in "P" and "N" range, but not in other ranges. Back-up light illuminates when the select lever is in the "R" range, but not in other ranges. Select lever and indicator positions are matched.

- Remove the gasket and plate COMPL.
- Insert a flat tip screwdriver with a thin tip under the connector and disconnect each connector from the plate COMPL.
- Remove the spacer bolt and remove the plate guide COMPL.
- Remove the shift lock clamp, spring A, select lever rod, lock plate cushion, and bushing.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the detent spring.
- Remove the shift lock solenoid unit.
- Raise the claw of connector.
- Disconnect the terminals of the SPORT mode switch, "P" range switch, and shift lock solenoid from the connector, using a flat tip screwdriver with a thin tip.
- Remove the grommet.
- Pull out the spring pin.
- Pull out the arm assembly, remove select lever COMPL, and remove bracket arm detent and bushing.
- Remove the rod detent and spring detent from the bracket arm detent.

- Clean all the parts before assembly.
- Apply NIGTIGHT LYW No. 2 grease or equivalent to each part. Refer to «AT SELECT LEVER»(ref-357268-S06799418112010031100000) , COMPONENT, General Description.
- Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly. NOTE: Set the select lever to "D" range (normal mode position) when installing the guide plate and be careful of the following. Insert the protrusion (B) of the guide plate into the hole on shift lock solenoid unit (A). Insert link (D) of the shift lock release into link (C) of the shift lock solenoid unit. Connect the switch and solenoid terminals to the connector.
- After completing installation, shift the select lever from "P" range to "D" range, then check whether the indicator and select lever matches, whether the pointer and position mark matches and whether the operating force occurs.
