Eyesight System (Service Information): Other Subaru Forester SJ

CAUTION

  1. Before disassembling or reassembling parts, always disconnect the battery ground cable from battery. When replacing the audio, control module and other parts provided with memory functions, record the memory contents before disconnecting the battery ground cable. Otherwise, the memory is cleared.
  2. Reassemble the parts in the reverse order of disassembly procedure unless otherwise indicated.
  3. Adjust parts to the given specifications.
  4. Connect the connectors securely during reassembly.
  5. After reassembly, make sure that the functional parts operate normally.
  6. Yellow connectors and harnesses with yellow tapes around them are the connectors and harnesses for the airbag system. Using a tester above such circuits may cause malfunction of airbag system.   7. Be careful not to damage the airbag system wiring harness when servicing electrical parts and switches.
  8. If the steering wheel and steering angle sensor (steering roll connector) are removed, adjust the steering angle sensor. < Ref. to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-662135-S18423196602014101300000) , VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U). >
  9. If the glass is damaged inside the glass repair prohibited area, always perform the glass replacement. < Ref. to «WINDSHIELD GLASS AND DASHBOARD»(ref-662112-S10786578482014101300000) , INSPECTION, General Description. >

Even if a scratch that occurs inside the prohibited area is repaired, this will affect the recognition of the stereo camera, which may cause the EyeSight function not to operate correctly.

CHECK FUSE

  1. Remove the fuse and inspect visually.
  2. If the fuse is blown out, replace the fuse. NOTE: If the fuse is blown again, check the system wiring harness.

System control of the EyeSight is performed by the following modules.

  1. Engine control module (ECM)
  2. Transmission control module (TCM)
  3. VDC control module (VDCCM)
  4. Stereo camera

P-CR OFF & LANE OFF SWITCH

The P-CR OFF & LANE OFF switch is integrated in the stereo camera cover assembly.

If the P-CR OFF & LANE OFF switch is faulty, replace the stereo camera cover assembly. < Ref. to STEREO CAMERA . >

For transmission control module (TCM), refer to "CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION" section.
