DTC P0340: CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION Subaru Forester SF рестайлинг

Note. Wiring between both connectors is shielded. Repair circuit in wiring together with shield.

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See «BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE»(ref-11745-S33755862182000112700000). Turn ignition off. Disconnect CMP sensor connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between CMP sensor connector terminal No. 1 and ground. (Схема №10) If resistance is not more than 100 k/ohms, leave ohmmeter connected and go to next step. If resistance is more than 100 k/ohms, locate and repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and CMP sensor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  2. Measure resistance between CMP sensor connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, locate and repair short to ground in wiring between CMP sensor and ECM. If resistance is not less than 10 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between CMP sensor connector terminal No. 2 and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, locate and repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and CMP sensor.
  4. Ensure CMP sensor bolt is tightened securely. Tighten bolt as required. If bolt is tight, remove CMP sensor and measure resistance across CMP sensor terminals. If resistance is 1000-4000 ohms, repair poor terminal contact in CMP sensor connector. If resistance is not 1000-4000 ohms, replace CMP sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See «CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES»(ref-11745-S21987207372000112700000) and «VERIFICATION PROCEDURE»(ref-11745-S19795024722001010900000).
