- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE SPEED) Drive the vehicle and check whether the operation of the speedometer in the combination meter assembly is normal. HINT: The vehicle speed sensor is operating normally if the speedometer reading is normal. If the speedometer does not operate, check it by following the procedure described for a speedometer malfunction. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Data List. Drive the vehicle. Read the value displayed on the Techstream. ECT Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Vehicle Speed Vehicle speed/ Min.: 0 km/h (0 mph) Max.: 255 km/h (158 mph) Actual vehicle speed - OK Vehicle speed displayed on Techstream and speedometer display are equal. - PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVING TEST) NOTE: This test should always be performed with at least 2 people. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch off. HINT: Because the torque converter has not engaged, it may be difficult to obtain the speeds specified in 4th, 5th and 6th gear, however a difference of speed should still be evident following each gear change. - PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVING TEST) NOTE: This test should always be performed with at least 2 people. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Active Test. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test. HINT: Comparing the gear commanded by the Active Test with the actual gear enables confirmation of the problem. When shifting gears using the Active Test function, do not operate the accelerator pedal for 2 seconds before and after shifting gears. Read the DTCs using the Techstream. RESULT Result Proceed to P0776 and other DTCs are output A Only P0776 is output B HINT: If shift solenoid valve SL2 is stuck off, DTCs for several shift solenoid valves including the malfunctioning shift solenoid valve will be stored.
