  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STARTER SIGNAL) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Data List. Read the value displayed on the Techstream. Crank the engine. Read the value displayed on the Techstream. Note. Perform the universal trip to clear permanent DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [05/2013 - 01/2014] . There is a possibility that the DTC P062F is issued from the ECUs of the ECM and TCM. Use Techstream to conduct a health check to confirm which ECU the DTC is issued from and then inspect the related system.

Note. Perform the universal trip to clear permanent DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [01/2014 - ] . There is a possibility that the DTC P062F is issued from the ECUs of the ECM and TCM. Use Techstream to conduct a health check to confirm which ECU the DTC is issued from and then inspect the related system.

This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. NOTE: In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. When the ATF temperature is as specified in "Normal Condition", perform troubleshooting for DTC P2610. Refer to DTC P2610: ECM / PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance .

When DTC P0713 is output and the Techstream indicates -40°C (-40°F), there is an open circuit. Check the temperature displayed on the Techstream in order to check if a malfunction exists. Temperature Displayed Malfunction -40°C (-40°F) Open circuit 150°C (302°F) or higher Short circuit If a circuit related to the ATF temperature sensor becomes open, P0713 is immediately stored (in 0.5 seconds). When P0713 is stored, P0711 cannot be stored. It is not necessary to inspect the circuit when P0711 is stored.

NT Sensor Voltage Input turbine speed sensor (speed sensor NT) output voltage/ Min.: 0 V Max.: 5 V Engine idling: 0.1 to 1.9 V - HINT: SPD (NT) is always 0 while driving: Open or short in the sensor or circuit. SPD (NT) is always more than 0 and less than 300 rpm while driving the vehicle at 50 km/h (31 mph) or more: Sensor trouble, improper installation, or intermittent connection trouble of the circuit.

  1. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR NT INSTALLATION Make sure that the connector is properly connected, and then check the speed sensor installation. OK The installation bolts are tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transaxle case. NG --> See step 6 OK: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE Disconnect the speed sensor connector. Remove the TCM. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. NT Sensor Voltage Input turbine speed sensor (speed sensor NT) output voltage/ Min.: 0 V Max.: 5 V Engine idling: 0.1 to 1.9 V - HINT: SPD (NT) is always 0 while driving: Open or short in the sensor or circuit. SPD (NT) is always more than 0 and less than 300 rpm while driving the vehicle at 50 km/h (31 mph) or more: Sensor trouble, improper installation, or intermittent connection trouble of the circuit.

This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Active Test. [Vehicle Condition] Vehicle speed: 75 km/h (47 mph) or more Lightly depress the accelerator pedal and check that the engine speed does not change abruptly. HINT: When depressing the accelerator pedal while driving, if the engine speed does not change abruptly, lock-up is on. When decelerating, slowly release the accelerator pedal, but do not fully release it (fully releasing the pedal will close the throttle valve and lock-up may be turned off).

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0741) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes. Read the DTCs using the Techstream. RESULT Result Proceed to Only P0741 is output A P0741 and other DTCs are output B HINT: If any other codes besides P0741 are output, perform troubleshooting for those DTCs first.
