Circuit/System Description
The body control module (BCM) controls the RUN/CRANK relay through the control circuit by applying voltage to the circuit. The ignition RUN/CRANK relay is energized when the ignition switch is in the ON or START position, or when a remote start is requested.
STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The theft protection subsystem has the possibility of electrically locking or unlocking the steering. The steering column lock control module may unlock the steering when the current is switched on and an approved driver has been identified. As soon as the steering wheel is unlocked a request to the starter motor is permitted.

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION
The engine will not crank even though the ignition is turned on.
When pushing the starter button to start the engine, only the ignition is turned on (the green light in the starter button is lit) but the engine will not crank.
