Computer/integrating Systems: Removal & Installation Pontiac G6 I

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to «Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure»(ref-242993-S28274277282006082100000) in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to «Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right»(ref-242974-S27494826062006082100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Remove the body control module (BCM) screws.
  4. Remove the BCM wire harness connectors.
  5. Remove the BCM.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the BCM.
  2. Install the BCM wire harness connectors.
  3. Install the BCM screws. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  4. Install the right console trim panel. Refer to «Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right»(ref-242974-S27494826062006082100000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to «Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure»(ref-242993-S28274277282006082100000) in Engine Electrical.
  6. For a new or remanufactured BCM, program the BCM. Refer to «Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration»(ref-242975-S27591399792006082100000) .
  7. Program the BCM after replacement. Refer to «Control Module References»(ref-242975-S40456744722006082100000) .
