The engine speed sensor (1) is of the inductive type

Role

Role of the engine speed sensor

  • To measure the speed of rotation of the engine
  • To mark the top dead centre (TDC) of the piston 1
  • To mark the top dead centre (TDC) of the piston 4

Function

The target consists of 60 (58 + 2) pairs of magnetic poles distributed around the edge, with two poles being absent to mark the top dead centre
