Rotary Switch Function (Potentiometer) Opel Vectra C

Sliding Roof 1 illustration ~210 words
  1. 1. Rotary switch with integral push button

The sunroof is driven to the position represented by the nominal value set on the rotary switch with a delay of approx. 400 ms. The last switch setting is responsible for determination of the sunroof position.

Functions of the rotary switch integral push button:

  • Suppression of protection function
  • Suppression of automatic closing
  • Memory function

Automatic closing

The automatic closing function during central locking of the vehicle which is activated via the door lock switch or the radio remote control, triggers the signal for automatic closing of the sunroof. The sunroof closes with a delay of approx. 0.7 second, provided that the automatic closing signal is not interrupted.

Memory function

If, after automatic closing, the sunroof is still in a position which deviates from that of the potentiometer, the sunroof is driven back to the pre-selected position after the push button is pressed.

Protection function

If the sunroof encounters resistance during automatic closing, it is stopped and opened again, provided that the vehicle remains stationary. If the sunroof encounters resistance during closing when driving, the protection function is not guaranteed due to the increased closing forces required – danger of injury. The protection function is also deactivated during automatic closing.
