Starter, Check (Starter Removed)

Max. duration of test 30 sec.

Connect terminal "50" of solenoid switch

(small screw connection) to positive terminal of battery.

Battery negative terminal to starter housing.

Starter pinion extends

Distance between point where the pinion is extended and the point to which the pinion can be pulled out to.

Permissible pinion gap 0.3 - 1.5 mm

If there is a deviation of the pinion gap - correct with spacer washers (1) - see corresponding operation.

Spacer washer thicknesses 0.5 and 0.8 mm.

Solenoid switch

Terminal "50" and coil housing for passage - use ohmmeter.

No passage - bypass coil interrupted:

replace solenoid switch

Terminal "50" and starter connection for passage - use ohmmeter.

No passage - winding interrupted:

replace solenoid switch
