Starter, Remove and Install
Disconnect ground cable from battery. Close off fuel lines with spring clamps and unscrew - counterhold on fuel distributor pipe.
Important:
Fuel lines may be under pressure.

Remove wiring plug from cruise control.
| Remove cruise control (if present) and lay aside. | |||

Remove wiring plug from rear knock sensor.
Loosen cable connections from starter.
| Unscrew upper and lower bolts from starter and remove starter. | |||

Install
Insert starter and fasten.
Torque - 70 Nm/52 lbf. ft.
Reconnect cables. Connect wiring plug to knock sensor.
Install cruise control (if present) and connect wiring plug.
Install fuel lines - counterhold on fuel distributor pipe.
Remove spring clamps and connect battery.
Torque:
Fuel lines to fuel distributor pipe - 15 Nm/11 lbf. ft.
Check that all cables are in good condition and firmly seated.
