Note. For warranty reasons, thermostat is only supplied complete with thermostat housing.
Remove
Open coolant drain bolt on radiator – collect coolant. Detach upper coolant hose (1) from thermostat housing and thermostat housing (2) with seal ring from cylinder head. Clean sealing surface and remove sealant residues.
Install
Attach new thermostat housing with thermostat and new seal ring to cylinder head – tightening torque 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.
Attach upper coolant hose to thermostat housing. Close coolant drain bolt on radiator. Top up cooling system – see operations "Cooling System, Top Up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
