Replace Tie Rod End Opel Astra H

Remove

1. 1. Remove front wheel.
2. 2. Measure exposed thread length (l) from lock nut to thread end of tie rod
3. 3. Release lock nut (1) • counterhold with open-ended wrench on tie rod end

4. 4. Release tie rod end (6) from steering knuckle (5) • Attach CH-47658 (1) – Place CH-47658 (1) in position with a suitable sleeve (4) – Fasten CH-47658 (1) to hex (2) • Unscrew tie rod end nut • Detach CH-47658 (1) – Release at hex (2)

Note. To centre CH-47658 , CH-47658 must be inserted with a suitable socket (3).

5. 5. Detach tie rod end from steering knuckle • Press tie rod end out of steering knuckle using KM-161-B (1) combined with KM-161-2

6. 6. Detach tie rod end from tie rod.

Install

7. 7. Attach tie rod end to tie rod 60 Nm • Lock tie rod end with lock nut – counterhold with open-ended wrench on tie rod end

Note. First check exposed thread length

8. 8. Attach tie rod end to steering knuckle • Attach CH-47658 – Affix CH-47658 with suitable cover – Fasten CH-47658 to hex • Tighten new nut for tie rod end 30 Nm +90° +15° • Detach CH-47658 – Release at hex

Note. In order to centre CH-47658 , CH-47658 must be inserted with a suitable socket. Insert fastening nut of the tie rod end into socket

9. 9. Fit front wheel 110 Nm
10. 10. Check toe-in, adjust if necessary
