Condenser Replace Opel Antara I

Condenser Replace

Remove

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant.
  3. Remove the radiator. For Z 24 XE refer to Radiator Replace . For Z 32 SE refer to Radiator Replace . For Z 20 DM and Z 20 DMH refer to Radiator Replace .
  4. Remove the discharge hose connecting block-to-condenser retaining nut.
  5. Remove the hose from the condenser.
  6. Remove the high-pressure pipe-to-condenser connecting block nut.
  7. Remove the pipe from the condenser.
  1. Remove the upper condenser mount nuts.
  2. Tilt the condenser to the rear, away from the radiator mount support.
  3. Lift the condenser up and out of the engine compartment.
  4. Cap all the open lines and the fittings to prevent contamination.

Install

  1. Make sure the condenser rubber mounts are in place.
  2. Install the condenser into the vehicle. The lower mount shock protectors must fit into the holes provided.
  3. Move the condenser forward into the radiator support mount holes.
  4. Install the upper condenser mount nuts and the washers.

Tighten

Tighten the upper condenser mount nuts to 4 N•m (35 lb-in).

  1. Install a new O-ring onto the high-pressure pipe mounting block fitting on the condenser.
  2. Install the high-pressure pipe into the condenser.
  3. Install the high-pressure pipe-to-condenser connecting block nut.

Tighten

Tighten the high-pressure pipe-to condenser connecting block nut to 14 N•m (10 lb-in).

  1. Install a new O-ring onto the discharge hose connecting block fitting.
  2. Install the discharge hose fitting into the condenser.
  3. Install the discharge hose connecting block-to-condenser retaining nut at the condenser connecting block.

Tighten

Tighten the discharge hose connecting block-to-condenser nut to 16 N•m (12 lb-ft).

  1. Install the radiator. For Z 24 XE refer to Radiator Replace . For Z 32 SE refer to Radiator Replace . For Z 20 DM and Z 20 DMH refer to Radiator Replace .
  2. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Operate the HVAC control to verify the proper function of the heating and cooling systems.
